Went to butterfly valley whilst on a boat trip, paid a small amount to venture up to the waterfall which was a hike and quite dangerous as the pathway is very narrow in parts and therefore not much room especially when you come across others trying to come down. Think I saw one butterfly the whole time, when I did... More

It's among the best places I have ever visited. From landing on the beach and moving into the valley with cliffs on both sides is magical.

This was a great place to camp and meet great people. the volunteers in valley are really nice and the food each evening is great! Lots of vegetarian choices! Spent almost a week staying here. The tourist boats that come in 11-1 are a bit of a vibe killer. But once the tourist circus has gone - the valley is... More

That's what we saw when we arrived. Tents with hippy types, dirty people. Only butterfly's that are around are in May. It very different from 12 years ago when we last went. No water at the waterfall when we got there at really. Lots of day tourist boats call in. Don't go it's really not worth it.

Visit here during a boat trip recently. Very pretty and rather unusual. Worth a visit. I would recommend it.

The butterfly valley must have been a very nice place a few years ago, yet now it is overcrowded with people and facilities, which have had a terrible impact on its fragile ecossystem. The butterflies are almost non-existant most of the year, and the place is crowded, with little reason for it. Flocks of noisy people (butterflies are very sensitive... More

I saw only one butterfly in the valley. A nice 20min walk one way. Beware - might need to step in a creek

It was cool how we could only access this place by boat! We stopped here as part of a boat trip! Dont expect any butterflies though! Its only a name of the beach i think... the sand is soft. Spent about an hour here. They also sell food inside with a nice seating place.
