KUBA, is the nick name of one prominent Bodrum's local, is real first name is Bulent; after years of huge success, Kuba, opened an fabulous restaurant named "Mutfak" , kitchen in English; Dining there at Mutfak was after his years of excellence perfectionist cooking a must to the most demanding; yet running two places on the raw without the Master could be very tricky; people goes for trend, fun, celebrities, Kuba's place had all of the fancy crowd; Mutfak being now shut, Kuba's place is now reviving at it's most; perfect music, lounge, pop, grunge or whatsoever will play after diner (respect to one's enjoying beautiful, delicate recipes; when time comes for action, meaning getting more crowded, dining table will slowly disappeared to give place to standing round tables for drinks and dance

Before I knew Küba only to be a night club but they have this cool concept first dine then party. Dinner was really good, we had Bonfile and vegetables. The concept is pure not many side dishes which was not necessary because because meat and a good wine was enough. The atmosphere was great, a bit romantic and also a place for a good chat with a friend. Maybe you can go there when there is greek music life programe. Lovely.

Stopped in for pre-dinner cocktails and enjoyed an awesome plate of grilled calamari. Watched the lights come on across the waterfront and castle from the elevated terrace. Spoke with the manager and was told the main business was being a late night club. Probably explains why we were the only ones there at 20:30. Nice stop prior to heading onto dinner ...

Kuba calls itself a restaurant and lounge bar but really it should just close the restaurant! It was a disgrace! At first appearance the setting is lovely clean newly renovated romantic! But then it starts!! Staff speak no English. Many things on the menu they didn’t have! No wine list only two options of white wine. I had the halloumi cheese starter. It was ok. Our friends starter didn’t bother to show up! The manager started to hide from us! Sides of potatoes came then 1 hour till our main joined them at which point we’d eaten them all from starvation! The men ordered steak and it was awful! The toughest steak I have ever tried! Actually gave my husband jaw ache! I had the seafood linguine it came swimming in cream and cheese seafood was there but lost in the thick gloopy sauce!! The manager still hiding from us in shame! In the end luckily we were laughing it was so bad it was hilarious!! Then the music became very loud and we realized this is a bar not a restaurant 😳

During my drinks, the server get’s 4 Volcano firecrackers lit on my table and after 10 mins another 4. I had not asked for these and later when I see the bill I was charged 600 TRY for not 8 but 12 of these without even asking for a single one or being told they are on charge. Upon speaking with the manager he said it’s already charged now. Also they charged my card with out me putting in my pin, I don’t know how that is possible. I will be reporting this to the Turkish Govt as a fraud against Tourists so that they stop cheating like this.

Wonder why so few people at this place in August ? Answer: the price!
Wonder why there is zero lighting over the tables? Answer: so you cannot see the prices on the menu. All 4 of us had to use our mobiles to see the menu.
Don’t order bruschetta: poorly toasted brown bread slices made soggy by chopped tomato and chopped egg only.
NO FLAVOUR WHATSOEVER!
5 king prawns bbq and coated in a lame excuse of a tomato sauce 80Tl or $20au, I can have killer prawn dishes in a pub in Sydney or Melbourne for that price or less.
And the rest. Drinks are a staggering 70/80Tl while all the bars on the strip are 35/40TL.
The service is poor compared to the professionalism of the waiters in turkey.
Shame on you Kuba Bar. You won’t be there when I return next summer, I bet.

Went here last night, obviously season is starting so kında busy. Three of us in party , bought 3 beers but this place is obviously for people who like to Show wealth or give hideous tips because the waiters nearly knocked me over accomadating some turkish gentlemen that were more suitably attired for politics than a club. Anyway i found staff just plane rude on observation taking peoples seats for there favourite clientelle and generally treating the ordinary customer like an annoying fly that could be swatted out of the way.
Advice dont go unless you can Flash wads of cash at rude waiters!!!!

We were at Kuba bar a few days ago. After having some drinks (for which we paid about 100 TL) and moving to another part of the bar, we ordered 3 shots of tequila.
5 minutes after one of the barmen asked if we wanted a drink. We said that maybe after and he responded that he'd be back in 5 min.
Then he came back and asked again. We explained that we just spend 100 TL in some drinks plus later shots, so we were not thinking about order more drinks for a while.
It never happened to me ever anywhere! The guy started arguing and saying that whelther we drank or we should leave. With an arrogant and disgusting tone he just kicked 6 people from the bar. We repeatedly asked veeery politelly for a reason which we never got.
For all the bad manners in which we were treated and the obligation of drinking every 5 minutes under threat of being kicked off I urge everyone not to go there anymore ever.
They deserve to close the local for ever.

We were recommended Kuba, along with the Yacht club, by a friend who knew the Bodrum nightlife well. It looks promising from outside, with its nicely lit open-air bar and romantic looking restaurant section. However, the once we sat down for our meal, we were rushed and the waiters were pushy. The food was average and was reasonably priced but the drinks were not. After our meal we paid 30 lira for two bottles of local Efes beer. This works out at around £6.50 per bottle which is extremely expensive compared to even the best London bars and clubs.

All in all, eating and drinking at Kuba was not a particularly pleasurable experience. We left feeling like we had been taken advantage of. Ok, it's one of the most modern and stylish looking places in Bodrum, but that's about all it has going for it.
