We paid 140 lira each to watch show in Goreme. Lasted 60 minutes. Fascinating display of love and fulfilment but a oncer. Only four whirlers. Might have been better with more.

The sema ceremony was beautiful and interesting. I recommend coming to Konya on Saturday to make sure you see this. The ceremony started at 2130, which I believe is later than normal, likely due to it being Ramadan and the breaking of the being so...More

Nothing special. The hall is gorgeous with hunderts of lights like the stars. Dance is boring and on the end you ask yourself - is this it?

During off season the dance takes place in the Sema Salón inside the building, not outside. It starts at 7 with a small introduction in Turkish. There's beautiful singing & music and also some praying at the end. The dance is memorizing, but you have...More

The program starts with 30 minutes of talking and singing in Turkish which put my 5 year old son to sleep. The dance also begins slowly and once you see 5 minutes of it, that's enough. There's never a climax to the dance and ends...More

What a wonder are these Dervishes. We come for the special event that happen every year in early December to celebrate the death of Mevlana (744 years this year) and the theatre is completely packed with people. There is a concert and a lecture beforehand...More

Thought I would experience a show but it was so much more than that. It was so moving, took you by the heart and teared you up. Went away speechless and thankful.

It Is praying, trance but a dance. Great Experience seeking that. Theatre Is rather big but still has some mystic in seeing them whirling.

I'm not sure there are any private dervish performances. When I asked in my hotel, they only knew about the free Saturday dance in the cultural center. Not sure what you mean by spiritual gatherings. There are plenty of... More

We went to the Mevlana Culture Centre to see them but there are several Deevishes shows especially in Summer so you better check on your ticket the exact location.
