This was a surprise as you don't really expect so much old original stone carving to remain. Beautiful designs.

Not a museum, but the former Church of the Apostles, and now known as the Kumbet Camii since its re-conversion to a mosque in 1994 under pressure from the Islamic authorities. Not only is there a modern mosque just 50m from this old church, but...More

Unfortunately, this old armenian church has been transformed into a mosque by locals. There are many other mosques nearby, but this tiny structure should be released as a historical church.

Once more.... a church, converted into a mosk, becoming a depot for the municipality, becoming finally a museum.... transformed back into a mosk. Although one of the older churches of the Armenian Kingdom in the 9th - 11th C, it is not the most beautiful...More

The title of this attraction is wrong: the building in question isn't a museum at all (in fact, it housed a museum for a brief period in late 1980s / early 1990s), but a 10th century Armenian church of the Holy Apostles which during its...More
