“Nice view from the Castle”

Entrance is free, nice castle which was originally built in the 12th century. You get an amazing view of the city of Kars and the mountainous surroundings. It was built by Seljuk Turks in 1153 by Vizier Firuz Akay upon the edict of Melik izzedin of Saltuks. It was substantially repaired in 1579 by Lala Pasha upon the edict of Ottoman Sultan Murad III. The castle contains tomb of Baba Jalal, Janissary barracks, arsenal and mosque.

Nice view from the Castle
