Eat Filiz Teyze's baklava
Jul 2020 • Family
This konak is the one has old historical goods and furnitures inside and the new generation usint this konak as a souvenir shop at the entrance and museum for upstairs.
The konak is splitted to two because of heritage and the haremlik side is good for understanding daily Ottoman or Yoruk lifestyle. However the other side has a huge garden using as cafe-restaurant now and Filiz Teyze(aunt) is the owner of Selamlik part and still preparing baklavas for their cafe.
Never miss eating Filiz Teyze's baklavas when you get there. Saffron flavoured Turkiss coffee and tea are also must to try. I loved them all. See you soon Filiz Teyze 😁

Pay the 2 TL and have a look

This lovely Ottoman home was restored and is open for tours -- the owner will hand you a dog-eared copy of a 2012 Cornucopia magazine on the property which tells you more in English. Climb up several flights of stair to see the rooms set in probably how they used to look. We were the only ones there, so we could dawdle.

Village is traditional, this house touristical..

Yoruk is much better protected village.. You can see the lifestyle 100 years ago.. This mansion has a wide backyard for eating some snacks and drink tea.. But that's all..

Also the nanny in there. She's really insane :) Enjoy

Extremely informative tour--don't skip this one

We loved the tour of this old Turkish house, which has been restored and is still inhabited by the descendants of the builder. The man who showed us around was so informative. We learned a lot about the symbolism in the architecture and the decoration, and also the planning. If you don't understand Turkish, you should probably travel with an interpreter.

Well don't really know where to start. If you go to Safranbolu this is the place you must see and also meet Filiz Teyze (Aunt Filiz)

lovely historic house
Feb 2015 • Couples
Love this museum type of house. it's full of history and the old lady showed us around with great enthusiasm and kindness. it's fun to go through each room and see how the people lived their lives a while ago. definitely worth a visit. much better than visiting a regular museum because this is real living history. if you ever come to visit the house, be sure to take a while to walk around the area too. it's such a charming and lovely village. much smaller than Safranbolu, but just as nice to visit.
