This is a place of great historical importance and worthy of a visit. But while we were there one person fell down and cut her lip and damaged the nose - because she was not looking down when walking and tripped on the cobblestones.

Here St. John was buried and later Justinian built a massive basilica around him. John is supposed to have accompanied Christ’s mother here where she is also buried further up the road - i skipped that one.
