- masdesid65San Giuliano Terme, Italy1,048 contributionsThe most spectacular place in GoremeThe Love Valley is incredible, perhaps the most bizarre place of all: here gigantic fairy chimneys rise several meters into the sky, resembling phallic shapes: hence the name Love Valley. A scenic route crosses the entire valley offering splendid views until reaching the most impressive pinnacles. Most "organized" tourists arrive at a panoramic point, where you can arrive by motor vehicle, and observe the particular formations from above... but if you are at least adventurous I recommend: going by car (5- 10 minutes) north of Goreme towards Cavausin; at the end Goreme sign, turn left and, after 300 m, park along the main road in front of three rocks on the right; take the dirt road and, covering a stretch on foot in about 10 minutes (800 m), you are at the beginning of the valley; from here you can expect a walk of about half an hour in the valley. A snack at Keles Cafè is highly recommended.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 2, 2024
- hatijyoumakiSaitama Prefecture, Japan509 contributionsWhite ValleyIt is on the northwest side of the town of Göreme, also known as White Valley, a white valley. There is a footpath in the valley, which you can walk if you have time. On the northeast side of the town of Göreme is Rose Valley. The valley turned red at sunrise and sunset, and there were many foreign tourists because it was within walking distance of the town. The night view of the town seen on the other side is also lovely. There is also an observation deck called Göreme Panorama on the west side of the town. This one has a large sightseeing bus and is crowded with tourists. Other places near Jürgüp are the Derbent Valley, which is lined with camel rocks and other strange rocks. They are all similar, but I prefer this White Valley and Rose Valley.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 23, 2024
- magnosa_1453Konya, Türkiye31 contributionsSightseeingMy family and I visited in July 2024. It’s a place where you can get a bit away from Göreme with navigation help. There were road-building work during our trip. The road may seem closed, but the way to the Love Valley observation top is open. A large space welcomes you when you reach the viewing peak. From there, you can take a bird’s eye on the valley. Seating and shopping areas are available. With a beautiful view, you can take a photo and grab a bite. We opted to take in the scenery because we had a toddler, but there are in-valley tours available too.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 9, 2024

I went twice during the day and for a balloon departure. Both were beautiful. In the meantime, watching the balloon take off is included. I arranged a taxi to watch the balloon blow up at 4:30 a.m., then take a balloon from the valley of love to see the views of fairytales, and then head to the lavender fountain. It was amazing. Early morning balloon watching, great view.Visited September 2024Traveled with friendsWritten September 13, 2024

We walked here from our hotel as we enjoy walking and taking it all in. They offer horse back riding tours once you arrive, there’s a small shop where you can purchase water but if you decide to walk there as we did make sure to take some water with you it took us about 1hour to make it.Visited November 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten December 31, 2024

I attended the love valley lookout and the walk from love valley, to white valley, to Uchisar.
The lookout is well worth a stop. Just be aware it is a tourist spot, can get quite busy and there will be lots of people trying to sell you photos of yourself (have to make a living somehow).
If you got a taxi here ask it to wait. You will need it to get to the walks starting point (I did not do this and had to hitch hike or you can walk 20 min back down the dusty, busy road). Be aware though, taking a taxi to the lookout costs 20 Lr.
At the bottom of the lookout, back on the main road, is the start of the walk. As you go through the valley you will find a man selling juice in his hut - it is 100 Lr cash (maybe more expensive than elsewhere but there is no where else you can buy it from and he has to make a living).
Continue walking on. There are lots of small tracks - try to always stick to the lower paths. If you go higher you have to back track. You can not get lost as long as you continue along the direction towards Uchisar between the valley walls.
As a solo female I was a touch uneasy if I should do the walk but I felt safe. I told my hotel where I was, there where other tourists in the track (not many but enough that I felt you could yell for help if you needed it).
The walk back by pigeon valley was more interesting - it was quite difficult due to washed out tracks and no people on it. But the walk from love valley to uchasir I recommend. Very enjoyable and you really get to see the area.
Final tip. Even on cool days take water and dress appropriately. It is in a desert valley in direct sun. It still gets quite hot when 20 degrees. Be sensible.

The best of Cappadocia. In our case, we did the hike from Uchisar, passing through the White Valley and ending up on the road that leads to Goreme. About 2 hours away. You can also leave the car on the road coming from Goreme and access the valley of love only in a short walk. Or contemplate it from the viewpoint that we reach along the same road (20 liras per car). This viewpoint is a good point for sunrise and balloons, except if fog prevents it, as was our case.

We went without the red or green tours that they offer in goreme. The tour offers doesnt look fair with the prices. Similar place can be reached by publoc transport and google search.
We took a public bus to Uchisar for 20 tl per person and found the way to the love valley which is streight forward.
Start of the way into the love valley is flat until the point that the road goes down into the hill. Going down is tricky and slippery but it is do-able with care.
Within the valley there are different roads, but all are the same, we went for the higher ones that have better view into the valley.
The path from the Uchisar back to the goreme takes almost 3.5 h to 4 hours by walking slowly and chill with taking photos, etc.
Before you go take enough water.
Have a nice hike.

This sightseeing point is a little overrated. There are some interesting fairy chimneys but this is as far as it goes. Of course it is worth seeing if you are in the area but I would not recommend a trip especially for this valley. There are some photo spots with hearth frame constructions made of iron and small ceramic jugs and a cafe. If you go o a sunny day wear SPF protection cream and cover yourselves as the sun can become pretty strong and there are few shaded areas.

One stepping into Love Valley in Cappadocia would be awe-struck by nature's captivating artistry. The valley's distinctive phallic rock formations, framed by expansive skies and rolling terrains, showcase Cappadocia's unparalleled geological wonders. Whether one is trekking its paths or floating in a balloon, its charm is undeniable. Truly, it stands as a testament to nature's imaginative brilliance in Turkey's heartland.

No crowds or coachloads of tourists.
Stopped for a short stroll up a track in to this valley.part of a small group tour from UK and our tour leader stopped at a few areas, rather than have us undertake a very long walkThe "tufa" here is well sculpted and unusual.
There is a small family run refreshment cabin for a beer, soft drink or local style coffee.
I would have been content to stay and stroll longer ,just to investigate, touch, watch and chill out ,but group has to move on.

Its a valley in Cappadocia when you can see the sunrise together with the hot air balloon comes up. Its one of the most spectacular view i’d ever seen and you have to take your time there until the sun really comes up and lots of the hot air balloon flies, you will find your picture like a wall paper background. Its amazing. Just prepare as the weather in winter is really cold

This review is for the lookout and not the hike in the valley floor. You can take a taxi or self drive to this lookout above Love Valley. There is a nominal parking fee to enter. It was 20tl for our taxi. There are some hearts and swings set up for photos. Some pony and camel rides are available as well if you're into that. A small café and gift shop is on site. In my opinion sunset is a better time to go since the sun is behind you, making the colours more spectacular. We spent about 20 minutes enjoying the view and taking photos. It’s very easy to access so in my opinion, worth coming for the lovely view.

Fab place to hike to from Göreme, but do not take the walking route that Google Maps suggests; not unless you want to add an unnecessary extra 30-40 minutes each way just to end up in a car park!
To be fair, once you’ve reached the car park you do get to see the panoramic views of Love Valley, but you are not able to reach the valley via the car park. Instead you have to retrace your steps back down the main road and then turn off up a dirt track when you see the sign for Baglidere Vadisi.
Highly recommend that you also wear shoes suitable for hiking, as I saw several people wearing trainers who were precariously sliding down the paths! It was quite amusing to watch, but it could have resulted in a nasty accident.

I would like to have walked the whole valley but didn't have the time, so maybe a 4 star is unfair. The view from the cliff above is great, but spoilt for me by the touristy setup and tacky photo ops that are provided. Not to mention the constant noisy stream of quad bikers! Take in the view, but also walk amongst the giant **** in the valley below, where you can get a welcome overpriced fresh orange juice from a small cafe in amongst the rock formations.

Hi,
I really like to hike with my kids 12 and 13, from Goreme - Love Valley - Uchisar. After reaching Uhcisat if they are strong enough i want to continue Pigeon valley to Goreme.
But i wonder if those trails are suitable for kids?
Thank you

hello.we r travelling to Cappadocia on 19-20th June 2018.
wanted to know what to wear during balloon ride, concerned about our 5 n 7yrsold.
like I need to keep pullovers or jackets or just a small blanket with full sleeves shirt will suffice.
regards.
Written June 17, 2018
In the morning can be bit chilly so for the kids od their age I would bring light jacket which they can remove later on.More practical and convenient then bringing the blanket.
