Had an amazing full day tour yesterday! Our guide was born and raised in the area and was truly a local expert. We enjoyed his commentary and had a great lunch with homemade local food.

I didn’t realize there would be a rug making demonstration, but we enjoyed the brief visit to the shop where we saw various rugs being made. Low pressure environment and I’m pretty sure we could have skipped it if we wanted.

I would recommend this company! They were punctual and we opted for a private tour coming off the cruise ship.

Oznur was an amazing guide! She met us just outside the port, and away we went with her and our driver to see the sites. We really appreciated Oznur’s expert knowledge and sensitivity to our needs. The traditional Turkish lunch was authentic and delicious, too. Thank you, Oznur for the best day we could ever imagine.

We just got back from our cruise which stopped at the port of Izmir. We had booked a full day Ephesus tour through Hello Ephesus. I knew it would be a great day but even my expectations were surpassed. Our tour guide was FANTASTIC! He met us right at the exit of the port and took us to our waiting airconditioned car/minivan. It was so nice and roomy inside with one rear facing back seat so we could all see each other and talk on the drive. It was so freaking hot that day in Turkey so having the air conditioned car waiting for us at every stop was so wonderful. Our guide was very knowledgeable in the history of Turkey and the sites we were going to see. Our driver was also great. Our guide knew all the best places to take pictures and knew how the best ways to avoid to crowds-- it was hard to avoid the crowds but he did a good job weaving us in and out of folks. The turkish lunch was fantastic. Oh I wish I was back there eating again right now.Learning about the rugs was interesting and it wasn't a 'hard sell' at all to buy a rug. We wanted to make a stop to buy olive oil and he was very flexible in accomodating our shopping. I knew the ruins would be great but I didn't expect to fall so in love with Turkey. This was our best tour on the trip and I highly highly recommend this company. We paid in American cash when we were dropped off and booking was so easy. Oh one last thing, we had two teens with us and our guide did a lot to keep them entertained - we even made an 'unscheduled' stop at a leather company where he had friends and put the girls into a fun fashion show which was the highlight of their day! He went above and beyond to make our day in Turkey memorable.

I just wanted to make everyone aware of the tour company called Hello Ephesus. We recently used their services to tour the ancient city of Ephesus. While the tour itself was very good, I was extremely displeased with the tour guide's attitude when she took us to the "rug weaving" demonstration. I had already told her that I did not want to spend more than 15 minutes there, as I did not want to be running for the ship's gangway.

She was very condescending, insisting we had plenty of time. We were virtually held hostage there for almost 50 minutes, resulting in our arrival back at the port more than 15 minutes past the "all aboard" time. Our only saving grace was that one of the ship's tours was late arriving as well, pulling in just ahead of us.

This was my first time in Turkey and was nerves about not booking though the cruise ship and booking my own tour. I am so glad I picked Hello Ephesus! It started with their knowledgeable staff who answered all my emails quickly. When the cruise changed port day, they were quick to reply that it was not a problem to switch days. But the best part was our amazing tour guide, Tugrul Sezgin! He is very knowledgeable about Ephesus, the area and Turkey itself. He made it the best tour I have ever been on. Because of him, we will defiantly visit Turkey again.

This was an excellent private day tour. The tour began and ended on time. TUĞRUL SEZGİN did a superior job as our tour guide. He is personable and knowledgeable about the history of the region variously called Asia Minor/Anatolia/Turkey, whether the time period is Hellinistic/Roman/Byzantine/Ottoman/Modern. The highlight was the terrace houses of Ephesus, made better by the retired archeologist present that day who was willing to share his experiences and information. We also toured the ruins of Basilica of St. John and Meryemana Evi (House of Mary), both religious sites were worthy of our time. Transportation was as advertised, in a comfortable van. Our driver was safe and friendly. Communication with Hello Ephesus was smooth and timely throughout.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a private tour provided by Hello Ephesus and our guide Goksu Pamir. We were on a Mediterranean Celebrity Cruise and had booked the tour online before departure. We were met at the port and Goksu had arranged a private driver to take us to the Historic Ephesus site. We spent several quality hours touring the site and the Terrace Houses. Goksu was very educated on the history and shared so much with us at each special place. We were lucky he brought us there early before the large tour groups and we enjoyed an almost private review of the Terrace Houses. This historical landmark is one not to miss and Hello Ephesus and Goksu will provide an excellent experience.

On June 7, 2012 we enjoyed our second tour with Hello Ephesus. Two years ago a member of Cruise Critic arranged a tour for about 25 people. We were so impressed that this year when our family of 9 wanted to take a Mediterranean Cruise we went again and I booked the Ephesus tour with Hello Ephesus. Our family consisted of four young people, 7, 8, 15 and 21 and 5 adults.
Our guide was a wonderful English speaking young man.We were driven in a 10 passenger van by our competent driver. Ephesus is a "must see!" Be sure you book the tour which includes the Roman Terrace Houses, they may be the highlight of your entire vacation.
After the Ephesus tour we were taken to a rug company, yes, they would love to sell you a beautiful Turkish rug (or jewelry and souvenirs,) but this is no hard sell!! An employee showed us the silk worm cocoons and the resulting threads. We observed women making rugs, not an easy task! We were shown beautiful rugs and told what the fabric content was and how they were priced. If no one shows an interest in buying, you are taken to a lovely covered patio and served a delicious Turkish lunch – actually more like a hearty dinner. (Clean restrooms!) We considered this tour an excellent value in every way. Even the youngest children were attentive all day!! Our guide was genuinely grateful for the tips which he certainly deserved.

We had a private tour of the ancient city Ephesus, St John's Basilica & Virgin Mary's House with Hello Ephesus and it was the best guided tour we had for our entire 2 week trip. Our guide Ali picked us up from the harbour in Kusadasi, and started the tour with an entertaining history lesson, using a detailed map of Turkey pinned to front of our tour van. He provided lots of information and helped us navigate through the tourist crowd to see the best attractions highlights. Lunch was included as part of the tour and it was held in a garden next to a carpet shop. Very relaxing. At the end of the tour, we had time and Ali bought us turkist coffee in a shop frequented by locals. All in all, we had a wonderful day.

A group of six of us arranged this tour during a stop by our cruise ship. Everything went as promised. We were met at the entrance of the port. The minibus was spacious. The guide, a young woman named Oya(?), was terrific. She took her time to explain things to us and we never felt rushed or hurried. The weather the day we went was beautiful and we had little or no wait anywhere. Don't miss the Terrace Houses! I was a bit apprehensive about negotiating all the stairs (bad knee) but it wasn't as bad as I thought it might have been. Truly the highlight of the trip. Another highlight was the relaxed lunch in the garden of the rug place. Good company, food and wine made it especially nice. We enjoyed the rug making demonstration. As others have mentioned, a sales pitch was made, but it was educational and we never felt pressure to buy anything. The cost of the tour was very reasonable - the "deal of the trip"
