- Ego197456 contributionsTypical Turkish marketKnow what you want to buy in terms of clothes, don’t bother with jewellery or bags as better ones on town. You are buying fakes of various quality so don’t buy as you go in the door highest prices. Second floor jumbles are good value, I hate haggling so generally go with a primark type price in mind for poor quality and m&s for really good quality fakes, then walk away if I can’t get a deal and they normally follow and give in.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 25, 2023
- JandLDayton_IN6 contributionsA fun time -- be certain of what you are buyingIt is a bargaining market. If you aren't good at negotiating prices and know the actual quality of what you are buying -- stay away. However, everyone was very friendly. My husband is handicapped and was offered a chair outside one of the stores and enjoyed conversation with the shop owners while I browsed.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 5, 2023
- LightPacker5081492 contributionsGenuine FAKE WatchesExcellent quality genuine fake watches. Wish I had more time there…but we were limited due to cruise schedule. Prices start high but keep dropping as you try to decide if it’s worth the cost. Got a sea dweller Rolex for $240 USDVisited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 10, 2024
- 711galep2 contributionsGreat products but beware of the hard sales tacticsCareful in the market, the Turks are heavy duty sales people who will push and even lie to you to get you to spend money! Still, I love the market with the different products and bought a few things I really liked. Be ready to bargain with them (not my strong suit)!Visited September 2024Traveled with friendsWritten September 30, 2024

Big market in Kusadasi to spend a few hours between pushy people trying to sell you something calling you, greeting you. You can't relax and look around without the pressure of the shop owners so it as very stressful. If you like brands, this place and these markets sell only fakes. It's a place to go but not my favourite.

We were once again a day in Kusadasi and felt like shopping. That's how we ended up in the My Way Deluxe store. His brother has a shoe and bag store across the street. The goods, as usual, have no price marking. We put out a few items we are interested in and were willing to agree on a reasonable price with the hitherto friendly seller. The seller quoted a price that meant around 60€ per cotton T-shirt or polyester shirt. We quoted a significantly lower price in the expectation that we would act. Instead, the young man immediately became very aggressive! He insulted us and we felt unsafe as the only customers in the store. The salesman physically attacked my husband! He pushed him hard from behind as we tried to get out of the store, so my husband even had his cappy blown off his head. When my husband turned to pick up the cappy again, the salesman was gone.
I can only warn against this place! There are three brothers who want to sell their standard goods at massively overpriced prices and become verbally and physically aggressive if the customer does not follow the prompts. After this experience it was the last visit of Kusadasi for us.

My wife and I did some shopping in the market at Kusadasi after touring Ephesus. We were told that our ship was the first cruise ship to dock for an excursion in Kusadasi since the Covid-19 Pandemic. In any event, the merchants were ready and willing to bargain. We bought a rug, which was shipped to us a month or so after we returned home. It was delivered to us and was too small for the area we planned to place it in. Naturally, the delivery guy had a larger rug in his truck that matched the colors in our foyer, so we bought another one. Also, before leaving the shops, a merchant made my wife a better price on a leather jacket that she was bargaining with him over and she bought it. Although we didn’t intend on buying anything, we ended up spending nearly as much on the rugs and jacket as we spent on our cruise.

Good luck finding any genuine clothes in kusadasi , just shop after shop selling the same fake brands. Quality varies but if you know the quality of a genuine Ralph Lauren polo then being asked to pay £20 for a poor imitation that you could buy for £5 on eBay back home doesn’t appeal. Quite how all these shops survive is a mystery as there is no difference between them . Turkish clothes are generally much cheaper and better quality so there are bargains there but the Turks seem to think we all want fake tat so fill their shops with that.

The Market has everything your looking for, but some places like pharmacy and some shops are very polite and some are. Be extremely aware of the taxi drivers...they like to over charge and use a flat rate instead of meters. They rather set there an talk to there friends, or smoke then drive you.

We were told the Wednesday market is a must for fake designer labels and more. We got there for 8.30am (apparently open from sunrise to sunset). It was definitely an experience. Be prepared to be jumped on/hassled to buy their items. Just one eye glimpse and they are on you! Tbh we did get some good bargains. Some items were better quality than in the shops in town. If you are buying more than one item, please check the sizes before they are thrown in a bag. We came away with two T-shirts in the wrong size.
If you suffer with anxiety do not go. Your anxiety levels will be through the roof!
If you like to haggle this is the place for you. Plenty of taxis waiting to take you back to your hotel or there is a bus stop right outside. Plenty of bargains to be had if your strong enough!

As soon as you step off the ship, you are greeted by the bazaar. They have everything from fridge magnets to jewellery to massive rugs. The shop owners do talk to you, but they don't hassle you to enter their shop. We found some lovely linen dresses, and other people bought amazing jewellery. From here, you can walk along the sea walls or venture further into the city to the next, more local bazaar

We enjoyed Kusadasi a lot more than we thought we would. Came by Cruise and just came out for a bit of a walk, knowing that this town here is filled with endless shops with mostly fake products. But since we like Turkey in general, we had a look around.
Right in the front of the bazaar, near the port, there is the most and aggressive hassle going on. Every single shop (with mostly the same products) you will get talk to and everybody's trying to convice you to shop at their store. It can get a bit annoying, but then again this is what they do and their daily business. Just a polite "no, thank you" will mostly be sufficient. We didn't really buy anything here.
But more south, at the very end of the bazaar street (Kahramlar Cd.), is where things get more interesting. Maybe less variety of products, but prices are a lot cheaper, really a lot cheaper. And other good shops (without fake stuff) can be found here. Also an excellent nut/turkish delight/dessert shop named "Tuğba Kuruyemiş" with great products for local prices.
This area here is where we've had the most fun and people here didn't push or rush, many shops having a "no hassle" sign...which turned out to be true.
All in all it was a fun experience, the southern part of the Bazaar being the highlight, where we actually did some very nice and well priced products. Skip the first few dozen of shops or so, you'll find cheaper deals later on.

Heirloom Carpets and Jewelry in Kusadisi is a high-pressure rip off shop that is aggressive in its tactics, dishonest, and in collusion with Norwegian Cruise Lines. We were so overcharged for our purchase — that was “guaranteed” by Norwegian — that I immediately cancelled my tips for all the staff. The $500 that the ship cruise won’t receive is just a small refund for the amount I was overcharged. I am disgusted that Norwegian Cruise lines took us to such a terrible place under the pretense of a “guarantee” that has no merit.

Great shopping but way to much hastle. Been to turkey 10/12 times over the years and never been hastled so much. It actually stopped us spending money. By us not wanting to shop meant we didn't go into town meaning we also never went to the restaurants there meaning more money not spent.
Side resort is so much calmer and less hastle. Get a grip shop owners and calm down. Also remember that with covid 19,we to have lost a lot of money and are feeling the pressure.

We were worried we would have to have Turkish money, but found most shops happy to take Euro, I bought some jewellery in one shop, seeing it was our last stop and short on euro, he happily took my Australian dollars, which was great for me, knowing exactly what I paid for goods, only problem wish I had more time and there.
