Travelled to experience some of the rich history of Turkey and it was amazing to see the vast ruins laid out to be explored. It was strange to see what you could interact with large portions of the old buildings being used to everything being cordoned off in the UK. Unfortunately, we actually went quite late in the day which meant the main attract was closed however it was beautiful to enjoy the sights during sunset.

Side town centre are placed within an old Roman port. The town has many historic Roman ruins. We first went t here in the mid 1990's when a lot of the ruins were still being excavated. Some 20 years later the ruins are now a lot more visable and you can walk amongst them. It is a great place to take children and show them how the people of this area lived back in the Roman period. The Roman public toilets are a great place to start and then moving on to the market place. If you come to Side don't miss a visit to Side Hamam you won't be disapointed
