Beautiful sandy beach and nice surrounding right at Lara district in Antalya. You can choose to stay on the sand and it’s free or you can get a sun bed to enjoy yourself even better . Not too crowded in October and has lots of free parking . We enjoyed it very much . .

So, I've been to a fair few beaches in Turkey in my time, and though we stayed in an AI hotel away from Lara beach on one day we visited the waterfall that drops into the sea (Duden), then decided to walk/visit Lara on the way back to the hotel. The beach was a disappointment, it was a combination of sand and pebbles, though there were lots of open bins parts of the beach was dirty. I appreciate it's end of season, and even taking into consideration COVID this year therer were some seriously delapidated and abandoned parts along the way. The toilets we used were grim to say the least, and the place feels unloved. I will assume a lot has to do with falling tourist numbers over the years, but it's a shame.

We were staying in a hotel just off Lara Beach. The beach is sand with some shale and is very nice. The sea is warm but does have a strong current sometimes. We never had any problem finding space and theres plenty of room.

We planned our BBQ at Lara Plaja. We arrived early to get a nice spot but it took a while as every where was so dirty. The area we decided to do our bbq had a lot of rubbish around and we were probably no more than 10 metres from about 4 of the many bins dotted around. It’s beyond me why some people are so lazy and spoil such a beautiful place for others. Many of the built in bbq’s were also damaged. The area could be beautiful but it’s very dated and needs a little work. There are toilets which are cleaned, but again people leave them in such a mess, and use the small masjid as a changing room! After our BBQ we went to the beach. Lara beach itself is nice, there is a complete no smoking policy on the beach, of course people do smoke but police regularly patrol to ensure people are not smoking and are adhering to the new social distancing rules. Whilst on the beach there are always people walking around selling things like mussels, simit and sweetcorn. If you want a day at the beach with a little privacy there are many beach clubs along the sea front that have sun beds and cabanas as well as music (some have live DJ’s on certain days) and waiter service. We visit regularly, I do like it here and my 3 stars is because it’s so dirty, I hope people will soon learn to use the bins that are provided.
