It is a great shopping centre, the traders do not bother you too much until you go inside their shop but it was good fun bartering with them, looking at their pained expressions, the town is bigger than you think, so it might be worth hiring the electric scooters, the traffic is not too bad for the fainthearted. We went towards the end of the season and their were loads of bargains to be had, my partner loved it, she was in shopping heaven or thereabouts. Lots of cafes and restaurants around as well to relax in.

We visited Kemer on a Tuesday for their weekly market. We got a local bus for just 9TL per couple. The market is a great size and is all under cover but still gets really hot! The locals are really friendly and welcome you. We got some really great bargains but remember to haggle! They would often change their prices but then drop to at least a third of the price if you go to walk away. There is plenty on offer from bags to belts to Turkish delight and souvenirs. I’m glad we experienced it.

It was a surprise to be back in Kemer after a few years. A lot of city beautification has been done.
Beautiful pedestrian promenade & beautiful well-stocked shops.
Friendly people and good restaurants.
Beautiful beach and lots to do. From Kemer you can arrange all kinds of trips, anywhere in the country.
Surrounded by the breathtaking Taurus mountains and beautiful nature, is an ultimate vacation.

Really, if you want to suffer you will come here. Terrible service, food, music, dirty, they try to cheat you on the every corner. Such terrible attack on the all senses that you need therapy after visiting this place

Good rugs but poor quality and samey bags on the stalls. Look out for some good fake labelled clothes wear though and lovely scarves but lacking in traditional Turkish goods which we felt disappointed about.

Hassled from arriving until leaving . Dragged into every shop. They even had the cheek to follow us up the streets after we said no . The bus took over an hour and half to get back to the hotel driving at 10 mile an hour . Horrible place just like the hotel we stayed at the yelken blue life .

Although Kemer has one reasonable street, with a full complement of tourist shops, I would say Kemer needs to be viewed with an open mind. We walked to the left of our Hotel, situated next door to the Orange and right. Having seen other areas of Turkey Kemer gives a very mixed perspective.
The Hotels are oasis of wealth against a lot of poverty. We were amazed when we crossed the road, after leaving the Hotel and turned right.
In Kemer there is a Tourist picture showing the Town beach and bay. This is situated next to the marina. To stop this discussion I would state that anyone visiting the town beach and the walkway to the left (between the bay and marina), would walk away!
Incidentally as keen walkers we viewed most of the Town.

I didn't like Kemer - I travelled to Kemer with a friend from Konyaalti Antalya by bus (Kemer Express) the bus journey costs 9 Lira and took about 1.5 hours. We traveled to Kemer for a boat trip but after the boat trip we explored the surrounding area.
Traveling from Konyaalti Antalya, gave me a lot to compare Kemer to. Kemer was very expensive in comparison to food and gifts etc - magnets. The magnets in Kemer were 6 lira each and in old town Kaleici the magnets were 5 for 10 lira and better quality.
The shop keepers are terribly rude and the area looks very run down. Some parts are of course beautiful but no where in comparison to Konyaalti. The fake designer shops looked good but the shop keepers were very intimidating when you didn't want to buy anything. So we didn't enter every shop but there were fake shops of everything, adidas, converse and Gucci. Gucci bags were very good fakes in Kemer but i found just as good or better for half the price in Kaleici - old town.
We stopped off at the big Mac Donalds in Kemer Marina and it was a great pit stop from a long day on a boat and walking. The meals here are less than 30 lira.
You can find a lot of exchange shops here in Kemer but the rate is not as good as in Konyaalti 5M Migros Mall.
Overall for a day trip, i would say Kemer is ok but better if your with a male, as two females alone can feel very scary. The poverty here seems high, so be careful of a night time. Coming back to Antalya i would prefer to stay in Konyaalti and next time i will not visit Kemer but other places for the day such as Kas or Fethiye.

Hi All.
We have been to Oluz Deniz and Icmeller and Serigermi.
All three were lovely places, but Icmeller was the nicest. (not to big and not to small).
We were looking at Kemer for our next holiday.
Is Kemer flat or up and down hills ?
Is Kemer a nice place with plenty of tat shops and shops selling genuine fakes :-).
Does it have a nice promenade to walk along in the evening, and is there a good selection of bars and restaurant ( but not on the scale of Marmaris).
We though Icmeller was just right in size etc, so if anybody could suggest a place like Icmeller that we could visit please let me know.
Thank you
Simon

Have been to Olu Deniz 7 times Icmeller twice, we now frequent Kemer, returning for our 8th visit in October.
Kemer is a bit smaller than Icemeller, it has a lovely marina, Moonlight Park on the sea front is a lovely walk through park with beach front bars/restaurants, it has a smallish pedestrian precinct also roads round about with the genuine fake shops etc.
Although surrounded by mountains, Kemer is very flat.

Has anyone in Canada dealt with a Geok Solar Technology please ?

Hi Wendy, I found this all from searching Google. I do believe he is real but he's not who he says he is. The company is a front. The place in 4522 Boul St-Laurent, Montréal, QC H2T 1R3, Canada is not theirs.
