The Uçarsu Watefall and Yeşilgöl (Green Lake) near it are important places for Alevi people in Turkey. Abdal Musa who is a important person fro Alevi peoples has some history here. First go to Yeşilgöl from parking area than climb the hill to the west for Uçarsu and enjoy the view. Be polite for ancient trees.

Absolutely gutted Best part of this trip was the drive up the unpaved road to the green lake Spectacular view when up there but Turkey sort your littering problem out - you are ruining your gorgeous country I spend a lot of time in india and you’re giving them a run for their money in terms of just dumping crap wherever you feel like it!! The waterfall is stunning but the track is strewn with rubbish The lake is the same Literally as we arrive an old Turkish boy drops a 2 litre plastic bottle in the verge of the path down to the lake - I basically unloaded on him with some of my favourite Anglo Saxon - you dirty ignorant “so and so” is sort of what I said He didn’t understand English but he got the message but....did nothing about it I picked the bottle up and walked and put it in the boot of our car and took it back home Sort yourselves out turkey!!!! Such a shame

We drove up from Kalkan on the Elmali road. It's a lovely drive on a mostly excellent road, with super views, especially the pink mountains South of the Kas turnoff. Gombe itself is an attractive little town with plenty of photo opps and enough places for a coffee or meal. Easy to park. After a coffee and a wander we decided to drive back to Kalkan via Kas and rather regretted it. There were great views as we drove up to nearly 2000m and the road was well surfaced. But it was not that wide, was ever so twisty and there were often sheer drops beside you, with no crash barriers. My wife said she'd hardly have got out of 1st gear if she'd been driving. So stick to the Kalkan route unless you like hair raising mountain roads.

We drove up from Kas, it was quite a drive (hairy at times) but we were rewarded with fantastic views of beautiful countryside, with lakes, mountains and lush green valleys. There are a few nice restaurants in Gombe, an interesting but very small town, we had a delicious meal that appears to have cost about £30 (with good tip) for 6 people! It would have been nicer if there was more to do when we got there, but as we didn't have a 4WD it wasn't possible to be as intrepid as we would have liked.
