A really nice museum. Excellent collection of artifacts. Entry is 90 turkish lira (as of August 2022). Audio guides are 45 turkish lira which I would recommend as it provided more in depth explanations about the objects in the museum. However there are written explanations in English and Turkish of many of the objects. If you want an audio guide guide take a form of ID (which is returned to you after you return tbe guide). Overall I would highly recommend this museum for people interested in the history of antalya and the wider region!

Strongly recommend 1st to visit ancient and historical places before going to museum, I visited just Perga so i could connect and make the “story” of it, for the rest of the things in the museum the experience wasn’t the same tho it was still nice to see them. Ticket was cheap, you buy it at the museum. 90 Turkish lira (€4-5) well done for that.

Antalya has two major attractions: beaches and history. After our visits to historical sites like Perge, Side, Aspendos, Myra etc, it was logical to visit the Antalya museum. The museum is full of archeological treasures excavated from the above mentioned sites. With its halls of emperors and gods and goddesses, the museum offers, especially for young children, a great opportunity of actually seeing the Ancient Greek history in front of them. Highly recommended.
On piece of advice: if you are visiting Turkey and planning to visit museums then buy the TL 500 worth of the museum card. It gives you access to all the museums.

If you are planning to spend the day on Konyaaltı beach factor in Antalya musuem into your trip. The museum is just across the road opposite the old fashioned and new tram stops.
The building is unassuming from the outside, and initially we were a little bit underwhelmed by the artefacts on display. Don’t be fooled or put off, it’s deceptive. The musuem gets better and better as you go through. In fact it’s probably one of the best medium sized museums we’ve ever visited! The ancient classical Greek and Roman statues of the Gods and Goddesses are magnificent, huge and tower over you. The displays give you a real sense of their grandeur and splendour. The staff were friendly and there are lockers near the entrance were you can leave your bags. We left pretty impressed by what we saw. It was definitely worth a visit.

I had a wonderful time exploring the museum which houses artefacts from prehistory onwards. It far exceeded my expectations. The items are well lit are the place wasn’t crowded at all. I felt very welcome and really enjoyed learning more about Turkish history. There are also items displayed outside in a garden area and the inside part of the museum is massive.

The Archaeological Museum of Antalya is one of the most important museums in Turkey and covers periods from prehistory to the 19th century. It is particularly renowned for its exceptional collection of ancient sculptures, many of which come from the archaeological site of Pergé. Do not miss this visit !!!
Especially since the museum, of reasonable size, can be discovered in just 1 to 2 hours!

My favorite part of the exhibit was seeing the statues and artifacts taken from the city of Perge. I would highly recommend going to Perge prior to the museum and to have a guide for both.
That ties a complete experience together and will enhance your takeaway from both places.

First things first: If you wanna have the best price, simply buy your ticket there. We've paid a bit more than 70 TR (11 Euros) for two people and even though for me it was a little boring my girlfriend had a blast. Her being a photographer, she could take lots and lots of beautiful pictures. It all starts with the very early stages of human history. Starting small with a few pieces from prehistoric times like the stone age, the bronze age and the iron age the amount of sculptures, vases, weapons, tools and jewelry goes crazy when you reach the hellenistic period and later stages of history. I gotta say though this museum has a thing about Roman emperor Hadrian. I don't know what it is, but you find quite a lot of sculptures of him! (Just three I think in all honesty. ;)) Later you'll be able to find some sarcophagi in there as well as bones and coins. Predominantly regional stuff, I think. So, if you are all about those dusty Romans and whatnot, go there and enjoy! Oh and on the outside they have some peacocks! Don't be afraid of the noises, it's just some crazy birds.

Very interesting museum to visit with amazing marble statutes and much more. The artefacts are described in English and Turkish. We really enjoyed visiting here and nice and air conned too. We spent about 1-1.5 hours here looking round. I would recommend you come if in Antalya. It was also nice to get the heritage tram here and stop is just outside the museum.

Poor experience at Antalya Museum. I paid for the ticket via credit card and received my usual confirmation that the transaction had gone through (I’ve signed up to receive these from my bank). The ticket agent insisted it had not been processed and wanted me to pay again even though I showed him my message etc. I know this is not his fault personally but for the museum this is pretty bad - to try to process two charges for a ticket! Left pretty disappointed in the whole incident.
