Just ok
Sep 2021 • Solo
This is a fine museum but almost exclusively features Roman artefacts from the region. If you are looking for neolithic or Byzantine, there are only a few small displays. There are really only 7 halls, not 13 as advertised--it's not a very big place. If you are in Antalya already, it might be worth a visit, but I regret going out of my way to go.

Mostly Roman artifacts
Aug 2021
We visited in August 2021 during Covid. A quick visit to this museum can be fun, as the place contains a bunch of Roman artifacts.

Main findings and assets from excavation sites in Antalya region are here
Apr 2021
Very good to understand the famous excavation sites in the whole region of Antalya, e.g. the enourmous statues that decorated the ancient Roman cities. Use a guide!! Audioguide or your personal book - anything, otherwise you won´t understand things.
Very nice cafe, good coffee and tea there but only tiny bites (too many restaurants very near outside) to digest the museum visit on the terrace besides the building. The souvenir shop attached offers good reads and maps for other points of interest in Antalya region.
The garden surrounding the museum is beautiful, pieceful and expresses ancient atmosphere since parts of the pillars, sarcophags are there. Bring along your picnic to sit down there!

Great Museum, Amazing Statues, Needs More English
Mar 2021 • Friends
The contents of the museum were amazing. More statues than I could have imagined, plus many other ancient artifacts. About 80% of the content with Turkish descriptions also had English, but I was also hoping to understand the other 20% that wasn’t in English.

2nd time to visit
Nov 2020 • Friends
Antalya museum is very good and big with many fantastic pieces from various ancient sites. I visited it before a couple of years ago and it was amazing with proper lightening and all but for some reason this time it felt like it needs some renovation so it would have better lighting and better display.

Do you like statues?
Oct 2020 • Couples
Definitely check this place out for the several rooms of statues. The statues of emperors like Trajan and Hadrian are so lifelike. They're also huge. Imagine seeing these line the streets. There's also a huge Hermes. There's another room of sarcophagi that's really interesting. A lot more ornate and detailed than what you'd find outside in other sites. At the entrance, there's also an exhibition for kids but it like a greatest hits of what's around Antalya in miniature form.

Great museum, filled with beautifully preserved and restored ancient statues. Wonderfully arranged halls, good information about the exhibited samples. I recommend.
