If you see too many mosque in Turkey, this mosque is nothing special at all.
1. This mosque is special because of its tall tower overlooking the whole Antalya.
2. Apart from the tower setting it special, the interior is not that special at all. Just an ordinary mosque with a tall tower.
3. Anyway, everyone has different opinions and enjoy your trip :)

The minaret of this mosque towers over the lower old city. But you will find it in the upper area. Usually a crowd around it. We stepped inside and admired the design, the domes, some modest decorations. Take off your shoes and you are welcome.

It was my first time to visit a mosque and I was quite shocked. I recommend wearing long sleeves and long pants. You can also borrow scarves and long skirts at the door. Girls don't need to wear headscarves. There is an old indoor market opposite, you can also go shopping.

Because the fluted minaret is the symbol of Antalya, it should be seen so you know what the signage refers too. The minaret is in the same area as Hadrians Gate, Seljuk tombs and the Truncated Minaret, so they could all be part of the one visit - unless of course you are staying in the old city (Kaleici) area nearby.The minaret used to be cover in turquoise tiles - i hope the restoration of this is planned, because it is an interesting building and it would be great to see its original decoration.
The Seljuk mosque associated with the minaret is active and is well worth a visit. As always there are "rules" to follow if you are going inside - don't photograph people in prayer, no shoes, no shorts, and women were asked to cover their heads.

This is a Byzantine-Seljuk and Ottoman architecture and designs coming together in one place. It was built on the remains of a Byzantine Church by the Seljuk Sultan Alaaddin, and hence it is called also the Alaaddin Mosque. Then it was rebuilt by the Ottomans in the 15th century. Now the mosque is not of a standard once since the mihrab was constructed according to the church structure. One can still see the remains of the ruins covered by glass inside the mosque. The area around it is the historical Kaleici .... many cafes and restaurants. The other amazing thing is the nearby building which houses the Antalya Ethnographic Museum and contains clothing, kitchen utensils, embroidery, tapestries and looms, socks, sacks, kilims, ornaments, and nomadic tents

You cannot miss this Mosque while walking the Kaleici old town, as its fluted minaret stands high above, seen from all around. The original Mosque dates back to 13 c, built by the Seljuks who conquered the area.
Due to its minaret shape the Mosque became Antalya's landmark and symbol along with the nearby Clock tower.

Located in the middle of a historical part of Antalya, this mosque is a good place to stop by, take few photos and even go inside in between prayers (proper clothes needed).

Yivli Minare is close to the northern gate of the Kaleiçi area; you will notice the minaret from everywhere because of its different architecture. The mosque is still in use, therefore you should avoid praying times when visiting.
