After a long drive up a never ending road you arrive at the Mount Nemrut museum, from there you buy your tickets and continue to drive up the hill. Once you've gone as far as you can its a bit of a trek up the last of the hill. I would recommend going up the left side and not the right, the path is a lot easier to manage.

Once youre at the summit, well no words can really explain, its breath taking, its amazing. Well worth a visit. It does get a little chilly up there even in the height of summer and the air is thin, which can hard for some people.

I would highly recommend it. Its a super magical and mystical place.

We went by car and the road was so scary till we reached up the hill , after we took the service bus to reach a special area from where we had to walk on a very long stairs it was nice but hot weather .
It's hard for kids to do it but my daughter did it .
You can see how big those rocks are and very high.
You must ask when the next bus is otherwise you have to wait .
That time was every half an hour.
Too many local people go there for sport to refresh their selves .
There is a restaurant idea cream some food and cold drinks .

This mountaintop temple is unique in the world. The statues and heads are gorgeous and were hauled up to the highest mountain in the area thousands of years ago. Even the gravel that forms the King Antiochus's tumulus on the peak of the mountain had to be hauled up there. Be sure to visit both sides of the mountain to see both temples and note the carvings in the rick panels from the insides of the original temples. Mt. Nemrut is a must see for anyone travelling to Turkey.

Ancient history at its best. The climb to the top is not for faint hearted. It was a 45 minute climb to the summit but worth it. The sunset is beautiful and amazing with the ruins reflecting the last rays of sunshine as it disappears behind the horizon.

We did the sunset hike (climb) to basically the summit. It is not hard and there is a "sidewalk" (kind of) and it will take you 20-40 minutes from your final park position to get to the final location. You will be amazed at what you see regarding the stone work and figures and then put it in the framework of the time created. Also, take note of the date that was left "unknown" until it was re-discovered. Truly a must but off the beaten path. A great way to spend a last day and sunset on a middle Turkey trip.

I went to Malatya and based on Lonelyplanet recommendation I have contacted this amazing local guide who came pick me up from the bus station (even if I had two hours delayed he was kind to wait without making problems) and brought me to the Nemrut hostel. We went to see the sunrise, and all the other sightseeing of this mesmerizing region. I must say, I found this experience one of the best part of my trip as it was so connected to the local reality thanks to Ramo, who is a local guide with a taxi and a van. His prices are honest and his proposal to take pictures of me went this trip an amazing memory to keep.

I am copy pasting his contact info in case someone is going to Malatya for Nemrut

We went to Nemrut Dagri (sunrise), then toward breakfast, to Roma castle, Arsemia antiacos summer palace, Cender bridge, and then Karakuş tümülus. Then we headed toward south on request.

We went to Mt. Nemrut in July which was a very hot day, but it does cool down as you get to the summit. The hike up the mountain is deffinately worth the climb. However, you need to consider taking your time. We are in our late fifties and do quite a bit of walking. We needed to stop around five times on the way up what is probably a half hour walk and stair climb. I think this is also hindered by the elevation and possibly my age and overall condition. But there were plenty of younger people making use of the benches which are spaced evenly up the route. When you get to the top it is very impressive with some fantastic sights around the country and of course the stone carvings and ruins. After Gobekle Tepe this is the second most impressive visit in the area. Pretty remote location and we stayed in karadut which maybe a half hour drive up pretty winding roads. Consider getting a tour guide to show you some other surrounding sites and there are many.

You should plan your trip to Mount Nemrut around sunrise and sunset. If there is sun, do not overdo your clothing because it will be too cold. The climb is tiring, but the view you will see is exquisite. Check the photo mk charge, museum card is accepted, you can contact after the earthquake before leaving Komagene king helkel the sun at the top ☀️

Of course, it is a place worth seeing. However, the road is a bit difficult for those coming from Kahta. I had a hard time with my LPG car :) When you approach the entrance, there is the Museum Cafe. You can meet all your needs inside, the prices can be considered reasonable. However, even though I have full internet connection on my phones, they charge me cash saying there is no internet, so make sure you have cash with you. My advice for those going to sunrise is to exit from the West Terrace, that is, on the left side of the road. They will probably direct you to the East Terrace from the right side of the road. If you go on the right, the road becomes very long and very tiring, but if you exit from the left side, there is an ideal exit. It was beautiful to watch the sunrise, and it was even more beautiful to see the works live.

My visit to Mount Nemrut was a standout moment on my trip. The sheer historical value of the massive stone heads, thrones, and the ancient site is awe-inspiring. The hike to the top is a bit challenging, especially if you aim for sunrise or sunset (which I highly recommend), but the views make it absolutely worth it.

There’s also a new museum on site. While it’s still a work in progress and currently a bit boring, it’s great to see efforts being made to enhance the experience. The real highlight, though, is the incredible views from the dining deck, which offers stunning scenery to enjoy your tea.

Bring sturdy shoes for the hike and a jacket, as it gets quite windy at the summit. If you’re into ancient history or just looking for breathtaking views, Mount Nemrut is a must-see!

I will also add that these are the original statues. They’re not replicas with the “real” ones in a museum. Very impressive.
