Two top museums - the Islamic art one and the heritage one, a nice space and outdoors, and, for fans, the crocodile and turtle farm.
Only damper. The cafeteria is extremely expensive so avoid eating or drinking there.
Bravo to the designers and this who are keeping this space well maintained.

I bought a ticket for the three attractions there. I went to see the crocodiles, then the Djerbian house. I went to the café near Lella Hadhria Museum to drink something. As I went to enter the Museum with my ticket (not perforated), the employee at the entrance prvented me from entering in a very impolite way. Although I showed him my ticket, he still refused in the same rude way. That is a scam! That guy is a shame to that wonderful park.

From the beginning to the end we loved every moment. The help Sarah gave us on the phone to find our driver in the busy square was really appreciated, making sure we got into the right car.

Atef, the driver, was great and told us some really interesting facts about Douz on the 30 minute journey, he gave advice on several restaurants and even dropped us to one on our way back after the tour.

Once we arrived at the camels, we did not stop laughing until we got off. Our guide, Sofien was absolutely brilliant, he made it so much fun!

I would definitely recommend this company, they were very professional and the camels appeared to be well looked after and in good condition.

Riding out into the desert on a camel sounded a bit intimidating. We were worried about the cold and potential for rough comforts.

Turns out all of our fears were unnecessary. The ride out was exciting, the facilities were fantastic. Beds on frames in tents with 4 or 5 blankets for each bed to help with the chill at night, running water for showers and such, a cozy firepit area for night time songs and day time chilling, comfortable building to keep you out of the wind at mealtime, and even solar powered charging for your phone/camera/etc.

The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating.

I highly recommend this little adventure as a great way to taste the experience of the desert without having to rough it.

You can buy the same trip much much cheaper from any local company. Buy it from the hotel you will stay. they will arrange it. i came to Tunisia just to fullfill my dream of seeing Sahara Desert and it became a holiday from hell. Thanks to this company. i have been offered from several agencies between 50 to 60 euros a day but i wanted something really good and read the comments and contacted saharansky. their price was double but they promised me the best service. If you read the itenary of 3 days trip you will understand (golden sand dunes in exotic sahara lol) the trip began. (but first i must tell you that i have been over 100 countries, climbed more than 10 volcanos, and i am well known traveller in my country. First time i complained about something in my life.)An old man and 2 Chinese girls. We began to ride in plastic bottles and grass. Obviously %90 of the trip we were either waiting or feeding the camels coz the camels kept stopping and eating grass (what a desert - little less green than amazonas) there were of course no dunes or nothing. We were riding on our camels around the city. I wouldn't call it a desert at all. Not the one in the pictures anyway. After this journey in this terrible area we arrived in our camp at 12:00 pm (2 hours ride not 3 hours as they promised) ate lunch and hit the road again AFTER 3.5 hours!!! yes 3.5 hours lunch break. Than we went like 20 minutes and we stopped for tea. Our non english speaker sweet old man made us tea and we drank. Waited there under a bush 1.5 hours!!! than we began to ride again. My camel's saddle kept falling and i wasnt able to sit on it. He tried to fix it but he couldnt. I had to carry all my body weight with my arms kept going down like a torture. Than after 1 hour ride we went back to the camp and slept in the most terrible bed (bent and warped) you can imagine (. Come on you charge 100 euros a day and thats what you get? in Tunisia. I and my chinese friends had terrible night. I slept 0. I called them and decided not to continue this trip because i have been devostated and put off. Nothing they promised was done. They didnt want me to pay but i still paid. I didnt want to feel like using those people work in the camp. So at the end i couldn't fullfil my sahara dream. I will try it in another country. Such a shame for this agency for giving Tunisian tourism a bad name.

Hello 454fatihk, First of all, we would like to inform you that you have never booked, reserved or had a 3 days camel trek with us, also we don't have any booking for this trek under your name. As for the price, we would like to inform you that the luxury camp is owned and managed by saharansky and we are the only operator of this tour (pictures you posted are from another camp), Also, our prices are best rates guaranteed. When a mistake happens, we assume it. But, in this case : You are wrong maybe because we are copied very often in Tunisia. Or maybe you are a friend from a competitor and you've decided to write a false bad review about us. We wish you a nice stay in Tunisia and we stay at your disposal, Kind regards, SAHARANSKY Team

It's only 15/20 minutes from the hotel by coach, which is a good start
The first part is the museum, which is well laid out, airy, and has some interesting exhibits.
You then walk around the corner and visit a traditional family home, and see the family weaving blankets on a large loom, weaving palm leaf hats, and the most fascinating, turning a large pot out of clay.
You then walk a bit further into the crocodile farm (they have giant tortoises too) The sheer number of Crocs, and their size, will amaze you. You get to see them being fed chicken, the bones splintering in their massive jaws. Impressive stuff!
reasonably priced and only out of your hotel for about 4 hours. definitely should be on your "to Do" list

Due to an overcast morning we were at a loose end so decided to visit the Crocodile park. It was amazing - so much more than just crocs. The Park in divided into 3 sections, the museum, heritage & the crocs & turtles/tortoises. I've never seen so many crocs in my life! We got there quite early, the place was practically deserted, but the crocs were still sleepy. They feed them twice a week (I think Wednesdays & Fridays, but you need to check) & I guess that would be exciting to see.
The next part was the heirtage site, where you saw how they used to use camels to run the irrigation systems, basket weaving, carpet weaving and by far the best a man making pots. He was amazing, so much better than the pottery places you are taken to visit in Guellala. Finally the museum, light & airy but not the best part for me.
There is a shopping centre with gift shops, clothes, spices and restaurants/cafes.
All in all a good day out. Cost 12 TD

Although the Bardomuseum was closed on monday, we had a very interesting tour to Sidi Bou Said, Karthago and the Medina in Tunis. Our guide Mr. Rafik Haouachi was very professionel, multilingual (perfekt german speeking) and very dedicated, showing us "secret places" we would never have seen without him in the old town of Tunis. The lunch was delicious - all together a really perfect day! Silvia and Hellmuth from Vienna /Austria
