Great way to spend an hour

Now this is how you should store your boat!! There's a nice display of small boats and motors, etc. Take the time to look at the caretakers house, attached to the boat house.

You get a nice boat ride over to this amazing building full of neat old boats. If this is your thing, you will dig it. For me, I was glad the shuttle ran every 30 minutes.

Another portion of Boldt Castle that you take the Shuttle to. Beautiful antique boats! The volunteers are very knowledgeable with answering questions and the rest of the staff was very nice. Neat to see the upstairs where the caretaker lived. Kinda pricey for what you see but if you buy the Boldt Castle package it's worth it

For those interested in old yachts, this is a must see. You get to see 2 of Mr. Boldt's yachts plus several others on loan.

This boathouse on the Boldt Castle property is large & the design unique. When visiting the Castle it is easy to view this amazing structure.

We enjoyed seeing the beautiful boats, especially the older wooden ones, in the unique yacht house. There are ample signs explaining the history of the boats. You can also go through the caretaker's living quarters upstairs which was interesting with beautiful curved windows. The kitchen was being renovated and off limits when we were there. We did this first and... More

I am not that into boating, thus this yacht house was not that attractive to me. But it has a wonderful view of the Heart Island.

It only takes about half an hour to tour the yacht house. There are beautiful boats in there. You have to do all the reading to know what boat you are looking at. There is no one there (other than the ticket lady) to answer questions or explain things. We still enjoyed it thoroughly.

I did this as part of the Boldt Castle tour (see my review on the Castle). I recommend buying a pass to both at the same time as well as the audio tour (you can keep it!).
