I’m a little bit old to be going to nightclubs. And of course, I went at 9pm so that I could be home at a reasonable time. The tuk-tuk drivers (lovely blokes, the lot of them) out the front of the hotel all assured me that no-one goes at that time, but not to be deterred I went in, and sure enough I was one of the first half dozen. Did it matter? Not a jot. The first band started and it was as if I had my own private concert.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I didn’t get home at a reasonable hour. Instead, against all my expectations, I had one of the best nights I have ever had going out in Thailand. Everyone was friendly, good wait staff, really good (and varied) bands, and an awesome atmosphere.
Just go. But go early and get the best seats in the house like I did.

Mostly young crowd, live loud music. Starts late - Jam-packed after midnight. Very reasonably priced. Good place to make local friends, but you have to be loud noise tolerant!

I'm not sure why this is listed as a Restaurant as it's actually a Thai Nightclub / Disco with a Live Band. Very popular amongst the locals; typically you'll get a small table near the stage (dance floors a Western concept) order a bottle of your favourite spirit (or bring your own) and order mixers from one of the serving staff.
If you want to sample real Thai nightlife this is a must visit. The music is a mix of Thai and Western and the partying goes on in to the early hours. Drinks are cheap and the atmosphere "sanook" (fun); great if you're with friends but if you're on your own don't worry as it just means it's an opportunity to make some new friends!

Dropped in to here after dinner and a concert night at the Plaza. Considering it was at the back off my hotel it was fairly quiet there until you got downstairs to the music room. Hundreds of local thai youth all grooving to the live music from the multi-vocal band. Drink prices are reasonable and everyone seems friendly and having fun. Definitely worth the look. Free entry too

It is a nice thai disco (not a restaurant at all). The ambiance is rock and fun and you can grab a drink there upto 2 o'clock (the lattest under the curfue law in Udon Thani these days). Have a drink, enjoy the music & show, meet interesting people (some speak English).

Be warned, everything is in Thai (I'm a Farlang) But the music is fantastic and of a high standard. In between sets the DJ keeps the fun going. The place was packed and the music loud which created a lively atmosphere with everyone having a great time. Can't wait to go back to Udon so we can go again!!

First of all it is not a restaurant it is a nightclub. The restaurant is in the hotel next door. But Yellow Bird for me is the best night club in Udon Thani. Get in there about 10pm and just after that the first band is on usually a 10 piece with one or two female singers as well as male. They do about 90 minutes and then its the disco till just after midnight then you get the 2nd 10 piece band on. Both bands usually brilliant. I have been many times. You can take in your own spirit bottle and pay corkage charge, much cheaper than buying in the club. And there is no entrance fee. Best night out in Udon
