Little known facts about the Vietnam War period
Sep 2019 • Couples
Just 20 km or so out of Udon Thani, Ho Chi Minh had one of the 10 or so places he visited and lived in around Thailand. Keep your enemy close was his mantra - and he certainly did here as there was a huge USAF base in Udon Thani during the Vietnam War. The Thai government sought close relations with the USA during the war but the people tended to support the struggle of the Vietnamese people. This museum has a lot of photos of Ho, his life and story but the real success of this place is the personal guide you get around the museum. You learn so much more from this interaction than looking at and reading those photos with English explanations. Exhibits are in Thai and Vietnamese with a few in English. Only about 20 minutes from downtown Udon Thani. Well signposted unlike some other Thai sites. Also has reconstructed house and other outbuildings in which Ho lived during his visits here.

Not For Everyone
May 2018 • Couples
Ho Chi Minh visited many towns around Thailand before heading back to Vietnam to take on the French, and the Ho Chi Minh museums in Nakhon Phanom are much more interesting than this one. Not really worth the drive out here.

For those who interested in history
Aug 2015 • Family
- if you like history, especially about Ho Chi Minh, this is a place for you
- it's a place where he stayed while he was living in Udon Thani
- there are his Vietnamese traditional home, simple bed room, kitchen, gardening tools so you'll see how he lived
- there's a museum about Ho Chi Minh, if you're not interested in this part of history, it can be a bit boring
- there's a free tour guide, nice staff
- no food or restaurant here, just so you know
- far from town about 1 hr drive and it's not close to the main road
- good place to visit but it's ok if you'll missed it

Ho Chi Minh Educational Museum
Jan 2016 • Family
The Museum is well set up and a very interesting .
We were told that Ho Chi Minh used to walk from this place to Vietnam it was his place he used to plot and plan his next move in the Vietnam war, how true not sure, maybe questionable however it sounded convincing.
I have read from various reviews from other sources that in the past this museum needed to be completed.
I can say now it is finished and well worth a visit ( Please note: it is a donation not a set fee )
The Museum has a lot of information regarding Ho Chi Minh and well laid out .
