Brookside Valley Resort is hard to categorize. It is part resort, part theme park and part restaurants.
The place is totally bizarre, which is saying something in a country like Thailand where the wonderfully weird and wacky are the norm.
The resort is set in 600 rai of lush mountain forest, with beautifully maintained grounds, lawns and water features.
But what makes it so strange is its attempt to imitate Europe and Western tourist attractions. There is a "Little Holland", complete with Dutch-look-alike houses and a windmill. There is an English telephone box. There is a place where you can take your photograph and pretend you are in Hollywood. There is a 19th century replica of a European sailing ship. And because I am from Australia I was particularly intrigued by the miniature replica of Sydney Habour Bridge.
Dotted throughout the extensive grounds are colourful chalets and houses, built in various European styles, which you can rent for holidays.
There is an upmarket children's playground.
The resort also offers conference facilities, with programs of team building activities.
If you just want to visit Brookside Valley Resort the entrance ticket is 60 THB, but most of this is redeemable at a restaurant if you eat here, or you can use it to buy fish pellets to throw in the ponds for the fish, or fodder for the sheep in their pens.
I cannot imagine overseas tourists wanting to come to Thailand to stay in a place that tries to remind them of home. But it is popular with Thais - perhaps those who want a holiday but don't have enough money to go to Europe (or to Australia to see the real Sydney Harbour Bridge).

There's nothing specifically wrong with this resort. The rooms were okay and the grounds are big but it's not even slightly worth the money they charge.

A fun family resort for a day or weekend. Great value and a good selection of accommodation. Plenty of activities for kids and adults to enjoy.

This resort is NOT for anyone who is looking to go shopping or having a hectic outdoor day. It is WORTH every penny if you wish to relax and let your kinds explore nature. The staff here is SUPER HELPFUL and there are activities like feeding goats, zipline etc which are very reasonably priced. Rayong city is just 15 mins drive with many dining options for restaurants and bars. Nothing around the resort for eating if you are not keen on local food

This may have been a nice place when it first opened but now it is dilapidated and dirty. The shops you see in the pictures don't even exist anymore, just fake shop fronts. The very few activities here are charged extra and not worth it. Strawberry town is completely overgrown and not a strawberry in sight. It's like the place fell out of favour and they just gave up. The houses around the lake are all overgrown and falling apart. The caravans are small and dirty.
The restaurant has a very small selection of food and closes at 8pm. However the limited food they do have is tasty. It's a quiet area but nothing to do and nowhere local to go apart from Rayong.
