Very close to Ban Phe ferry port! The entry fee is just 1 usd just 30 Thb and same for all Thai and foreign tourists It has a underwater walk way with lotsa fish including sharks ( small fellows) turtles, sting rays among other interesting sea creatures. Theres a small museum which tells about the local fishing techniques including boats, nets and fishing locations. The ace is neat, clean n well maintained and can be covered in about an hour.Definitely worth a visit! If you are interested in purchasing small trinkets made of seashells...one can get it just outside the aquarium gates or in the nearby ban phe supermarket!

I had friends visiting me from Australia and they wanted to go to Rayong Aquarium, so we took the 20 km drive from Rayong to Ban Phe.
Unfortunately when we got there we found it was closed for major renovations for six months and will not be open again until October.
When it does reopen I can assure you it is worth a visit. First of all it only costs Baht 30 entry (nothing if you are over 65), and further than that it is a first class, albeit small, aquarium.
Its also great for kids when you go down the ramp and suddenly find sharks, manta rays and other fish swimming all around you and over your head.

We didn't have very high expectations going to this aquarium, but were pleasantly surprised! It was cheap (30B for adults and 10B for children) and it was the same prices for foreigners as locals! They had a good range of fish & other marine life, and the tanks appeared clean and well maintained.

Wasn’t sure about visiting here but it seemed well kept and modern. Informative and varied. Worth an hours visit.

A large selection of all sea creatures including large fish in huge aquariums. Large car park, excellent value but no cafe on site.

This is quite a nice aquarium for the small town of Ban Phe. You can whiz through in 1/2 an hour if you want, or spend time in all the exhibits and at the individual fish tanks if you want to stay longer. It has one 'tunnel' to walk through, where you can see fish/sharks above and on the sides. It's closed on Mondays-Tuesdays and when I last visited, the gift shop was not open (don't know if that's permanent but hope not, because it had some good mdse.). Some good seafood restaurants on the road coming in. Busiest during schools holidays in Apr-May and Oct. Great for kids!

Went in 2014. Nice touristy place to see.
Of course nothing like the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, but for worth the stop, especially if your traveling with kids.

This week I am playing host and tour guide for friends from Australia, so this morning we took off to explore Ban Phe, an old fishing village about 20 km east of Rayong.
One of the first ports of call was the Rayong Aquarium, at the western end of town.
It is only a small aquarium, but is very well designed and displayed, particularly after many of the fish tanks and lighting were renovated about two years ago.
The aquarium is well signed in Thai and English and is highly education, especially for groups of school children who were going through the day we visited.
Best of all, unlike many other Thai tourist attractions, there is no dual pricing here for foreigners. A modest B50 entry for both Thais and foreigners.
