About
Give some Personal TLC to Phuket's idyllic beaches by signing up for the Clean the Beach Boot Camp. Run by Health & Fitness Specialist Krix Luther The premise is simple: "First We Train, Then We Clean." The 30 minute session mixes up Functional Training, Games & Drills followed by 30 minutes of Yoga, catering to all Fitness Levels Once you've caught your breath, pull on a pair of gloves and get busy picking up discarded bottles, glass bits and butts. It is a sobering experience, but you will leave feeling a sense of satisfaction that you've made a positive change & I can't think of a better way to Start the Weekend.

Absolutely grateful for this generous initiative to gather people to first train, stretch then clean a different beach every other Saturday. I love it, made new friends and recommend it to all!

In the morning we started off at the port to board the catamaran for our adventure to Racha Noi island. Once onboard we enjoyed the music pastries, coffee and tea and each other's company. The whole trip there was a blessing with excellent weather, good sunshine and a spectacular view of Phuket fading away. We maintained a search for dolphins but unfortunately did not see any.
When we arrived at Racha Noi, Captain Mike Fallows (blue world safari) gave the order to anchor and I immediately jumped into the crystal clear waters and swam to the island as the others came along in the dinghy.
When we were at the beach Krix Luther (cbbc) his team organized us to begin the activities. We first collected all logs and sticks that were around the beach. Then we did a short warm-up that even the youngest child could do. We progressed into exercises for strength conditioning and some circuit training. While I was running to reach the target I cut my toe was a small stone. It was not very serious but I decided to go, with the help of the crew, to the catamaran in the dinghy to get it cleaned up.
David swim to the catamaran to give me an antibiotic cream to put it on my toe, so there was no infection.
The activities ended and I could see from the catamaran that David Adame began his yoga class on the beach under the shade of the trees. After the yoga class we began cleaning the beach. We collected the garbage: bottles, plastics, shoes, glasses, and fishing string and more.
Analyzing everything that happened on the beach I wonder where so much garbage comes from out on an island where nobody lives? We, the human beings, are the ones who dirty the beaches without regard to the damage we do to our ecosystem. This is not my country but it happens everywhere. Tourists throw garbage on the beaches and also even the locals.
Such activities like cleaning the beach help raise awareness of the damage we do to our planet. This is a very good example and helps us to preserve and conserve for future generations.
Later when all the trash bags were returned to the catamaran we had lunch. It was a delicious Thai-style feast followed by free time for swimming, snorkeling and relaxing.
I was quiet and very happy to be in this place which is a paradise, I meet people from all around the world and I decided to ask the crew to please take me back to the beach despite the pain in my toe to stay there just talking with new friends I met and contemplating the beauty of the island and reflect on the work on the beach.
Racha Noi is a haven located 1 hour and minutes from Phuket. Thank you very much for this adventurous encounter with nature. I very highly recommend it to all who visit Phuket.
All garbage bags were transported to Phuket and properly disposed of.
Clean the beach boot camp is the best on the island.
Mil Gracias.

I first attended Clean the Beach Boot Camp over a year ago and have been attending ever since. There is no better way to work out for free, than on a beautiful beach overlooking crystal clear water. I find it a great way to meet people from all over the world and have made a lot of new friends through the program. It brings together people from all walks of life, which is what I love about it. As a resident of Phuket who works on the island, it’s important for me to give something back and this is my way of doing it-by trying to keep the beaches clean. It’s a fantastic program and is always very well attended. Keep up the great work Krix Luther.

You will see the difference you make, before and after the clean up. This group of friendly people visit a different beach on every other Saturday for two hours starting mid-morning. The first hour involves a warm-up, some aerobic/strength training and fun team games (relay races, tug-o-war, that sort of thing) This is followed by a yoga-style stretching cool down. Then latex gloves and trash bags are supplied and we get to work gathering trash. It's not unusual for there to be a dozen large trash bags filled by the time we finish (usually around 45 minutes later). The group often goes to a nearby restaurant after the event.
If I weren't having a great time I wouldn't keep coming back. I think I've been to 8 or 9 of these and I always look forward to the next one. The beaches on Phuket are gorgeous. They are even more beautiful when they've had a little tender loving care. I've met some very interesting people at these events, a variety of people from around the world: visitors, expats, and students. A wide range of ages and backgrounds. Thais and non-Thais. It's a welcoming group, having fun and doing a good thing. What more can you ask for?
