Winding its way through a truly dramatic 1400 rai former tin mine site in...

Winding its way through a truly dramatic 1400 rai former tin mine site in the heart of Phuket, Red Mountain is one of Asia's most exciting new courses that officially opened in 2008. The course has been cleverly routed to take advantage of a huge variety of landforms and dizzying elevation changes. Scars left from the tin mine era have been imaginatively incorporated into the overall scheme, creating a unique character at the same time as establishing an indelible link with an important era in the Island's past. Designer Jon Morrow and co-designer Al Tikkanen, have created a highly strategic and challenging 6,900 yard lay out to complement the shorter and gentler Loch Palm which is next door. While the course is undoubtedly challenging, numerous risk and reward options create a fun playing environment, an exhilarating test of golf and a breathtaking scenic tour around a course that has become a golfing landmark in the region.

If you bring your sticks to Phuket, make sure you play at Red Mountain. It is expensive for golf in Phuket but absolutely worth every penny. From the moment you arrive and check the breath taking views, to the moment you enjoy lunch afterwards at the club house - it is superb. Good fun caddies (generally). Get there

I play a lot of golf in a lot of different places and this course is one of the most beautiful I have ever played! Greens where cored the two weeks before we got there but the course was in immaculate condition. I would recommend anyone planning on golfing while in Phuket to put a round in here

Even though the greens were cored the previous week, it was truly an enjoyable day on a very beautiful golf course. Our caddies were also brilliant (special mention to Wandee 034) A must for any golfer visiting the region.

Great golfing experience. Been here six times over 5 years. Course in great condition as was everything else. UNFORTUNATELY is now way too expensive. Cost of game cart caddy & tip all compulsory was over $300 Australian dollars. That does NOT include clubs balls etc. Unlikely I'll play here again.

Looking at the rather expensive costs of playing golf in Thailand, this is the one you need to try. Paying just a little more to get the best experience. Only brought golf shoes, and rented a brand new set of TaylorMade SLDR. Total cost with greenfee, caddy fee, caddy tip, renting clubs. 6700baht. Caddies were nice and friendly but seemed... More

Life is all about opinions and it is my opinion that this is the best of the best in Phuket. If you like your golf, love a challenge then Red Mountain is for you. It is in excellent condition tee to green with greens like snooker tables and lightening fast (no need to be ashamed of a 3 or 4... More

Really enjoyed my round this well designed course. You need to be accurate off the tee or face being in water or the jungle. Staff were very welcoming, food was good too. Pro shop well stocked and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Just played at the Red Mountain and it has to be one of the best courses I've played in Asia. The green fee is a little steep, but worth every penny as the course is in an immaculate condition. You must play it if you're visiting Phuket.

Our group of 8 played golf at the Red Mountain Golf Club in the morning in March. The layout was amazing and difficult. The green and fairway were excellent. The services were great. It is a must for golfers who visit Phuket.
