Not As Advertised/Never Again

I went there about 5 years ago and it was a good experience. I went today with a friend and it was terrible. The massage was the worst massage I have had in Thailand. The masseur kept coughing on me and leaving the room. The place has seen better days. It needs painting. It is over priced. They said they would send a taxi for us and made us pay for it. I would not waste your time or money going there.

My money was stolen out of my wallet
Nov 2015 • Friends
I always visited Hiranyikara Spa every time I was in Phuket. This time I brought 2 friends with me to enjoy a massage as I had always done in the past. We all booked 90 minute aroma oil massages. My masseur was the manager of the spa. After 5 minutes into the massage he told me that I needed to go to the sauna for a about 10 minutes. After returning to the massage room he gave me a one hour massage and then told me to return to the sauna for about 10 minutes. My whole treatment was about 80 minutes, with about 20 minutes spent in the sauna... I was disappointed by the whole experience. The massage was not even the quality that I had enjoyed in the past. Very surprising as this was the manager of the spa.
After the massage I gave a tip to the masseur even though I was disappointed. When I returned to the waiting area I had discovered that 1,000 baht was missing from my wallet. I confronted the manager and he apologized and returned the tip that I just gave him but did not return the missing 1,000 baht. After returning to my hotel I went to exchange money and it was then that I discovered 10,000 japanese yen missing from my wallet. In total I had 1,000 baht and 10,000 yen missing from my wallet. I was leaving Phuket the next morning so I did not have time to go to the police about this. Please be warned. Watch your belongings at this place if you insist on going however it is not the place that it used to be. The staff are thieves. You will get a much better massage in the Patong Beach area.

Never again!
Sep 2015 • Solo
Went for a 2 hour massage and ended up with an hour and 30 mins disappointment. Massuer was unskilled and left me on the bed for 10 mins to go out to have a smoke halfway through the massage and then returned reeking of tobacco! Website portrays a total different environment than what you will experience from the moment you arrive. I was so relieved to get back to my hotel and write it off as a mistake and never again will return to this establishment.

There are no pictures on the website of the place that you would recognise. For good reason. It is decaying, basic and not what I would expect from luxury. The prices are 3 times more than what you would pay in Patong and the massage is of poor quality. Avoid. Basically a really expensive tourist trap.

Not worth it

When my partner and I booked, we were offered free transfer there and back which we thought was a good deal - on the day of the booking, we had to wait for an hour before our transfer showed up, after ringing them several times to ask what the delay was. Turned out they only had one car, and had decided to pick up another group first instead, which we felt was very unprofessional and left a bit of a sour taste in our mouths.

When we got there, we noticed immediately that it was a fairly shabby, unfriendly place, and has definitely seen better days. We went for a package, body scrub, milk bath and massage, which cost us 4500 baht each - very expensive for Phuket.

The scrub was very basic, and they used a cheap product, which smelt pretty awful. The milk bath was as exciting as you would expect, but nothing to complain about. The massage was the most disappointing though, the boys there obviously don't have any real training and they were totally disinterested in what they were doing. Didn't even smile!

We can't recommend this spa to fellow gay travellers, it's a rip-off, you can get just as good a massage (or better) in Patong for a fraction of the cost and you won't waste hours of your day getting to and from the place.

Arranged for a courtesy pick up from hotel for 4x customers. No problems! Picked up on time and transported. Initial impressions on arrival were good, nice reception hall and area. The garden pool is welcoming and we where provided with a cool drink and the spa menu. All of us chose the Aromatic Massage. Prior to heading off for our treatment we had a quick look in the Steam room and Sauna (Disgusting!! Stay out or you could well end up catching some sort of bacterial infection, they smelt and looked dirty!). Like the reviewer below, the treatment rooms were rather substandard, given the price being paid 1800 Baht for 90 mins! The massage was good and professionally delivered and a touch sensual (not sexual!) and the masseur was courteous and respectful. The bathroom was dirty and the electric shower only delivered cold water! I think for the money I'd expect a top notch spa experience and surroundings as good as the top hotel spa facilities - and it wasn't! The reality is you can get as a good a massage in Patong town for 900 Baht in similar surroundings or better! I guess the attraction here is that you are guaranteed a male masseur which is a competitive advantage!

I tried this spa near Patong as it was recommended to my. The website looks good and so i thought; ok, give it a try, indulge yourself.

1st off all it was a bit of a fuzz to get the transfer to the spa (yes, i booked more than 4 hrs) staff said they do it for 2 persons, as gas is getting high now....after a bit of discussion i got the transfer. The entrance of the spa looked quite nice and stylish and so i was looking forward to a great spa day. I was welcomed at the counter, pay first and then welcomed at the pool with a drink and a cold towel. Then i was brought to my room: a rather dodgy looking something with two beds, and a whirlpool in the corner (dirty). Curtains closed, airco high on so a bit cold.

The therapist welcomed me and immediatly started the treatment - a scrub. This was followed by the rainshower bed - a matrees under a four showerhead something with warm water. The room rather looked like a prison cell...so my understanding of a tropical rainshower bed was a bit diffrent. After being wrapped in a moisturizing milk i had time to rest and sleep for an hour. To take of the moisturizing lotion i was lead to the shower - another dodgy thing, rather dirty and not really welcoming. The massage afterwards was good - i booked a hot thai pressure massage on top. So the combination of hot pressure and massage really felt good. After offering me water and a pineapple it was time to transfer back to patong.

All in all i must say, that the treatment was ok, but the therapy room is definitly not what i expected for a spa at this price range. I ask myself if I should have rather booked a massage in patong in a resort or just go to one of the various walk-in ones you find here. I absolutly find no reason why I should go out there anymore, pay that amount of money for a treatment in an environment which i can find anywhere else. Pls see fotos attached.

Lower Your Expectations
Jan 2012 • Couples
Website makes it look much more pleasant than the reality...place has the air of mild decay throughout, from reception to treatment rooms. Their Muscle Melt massage was one of the poorest I had in Phuket on this trip - I got more out of the one in the airport departure lounge the next day, at a sixth of the price! Worse, my guy kept getting SMS'ed throughout the massage, took one call mid back-rub and excused himself on another occasion to take another incoming call!

Should temper all of that by saying my partner had a good masseur and loved the place.

As the title says, lower your expectations -- and open your wallet -- before booking!

A voyage to "Heaven"
Dec 2011 • Solo
Went there for a Aroma Hiranyikara Massage which is a combination of classical Swedish massage (using oils and kneading) and traditional Thai massage (using acupressure and stretching techniques) will help soothe muscle aches and pain, improve blood circulation and enhance deep relaxing sensation; the masseur was excellent and I did leave the please much more relaxed, released and with a smile. Highly recommended venue.
