On Bangla road the difference between money, value and goods get obliterated sometimes. It's difficult to assign value to a certain article when the perspective changes. At Honky Tonk a JD costs 180tbh, at the next bar it's 190 bcoz of few pole dancers. Somewhere it's 200tbh as they have few strippers. But Honky Tonk is a nice place. Staffs are good and friendly (overtly sometimes). No food is served. It all depends on what u want and ur need will be satisfied accordingly. We travelled as a couple and we found it safe, friendly and less sleazy than other places. I will recommend this place to the less adventurist and the lesser sinister!!

As in Thailand, there are plenty people with a big board trying to get you into the bar. So this place’s trick is: 4 drinks and 4 shots for 500 bahts.
As you can imagine, the drinks are the smallest you can see in your life. (Margarita on the picture).
Story continued, the staff brings a game “connect four” and as its almost midnight and you are having a good time, you agree with playing (if you lose, you after to buy her a drink). As you probably already know, my bf lost. And guess what... the drink for staff is 250 bath! Ridiculous.
Another awful experience in Thailand. Hey Thai people, I am really not a walking wallet... ugh. Extortion every single day begins to grow old.

The Honky Tonk Bar is a must visit if going to Patong Beach’s Walking Street in Phuket, Thailand. Great staff and the best cocktails in town. Everyone seems to have a good time — great location, and the excitement of the staff and surroundings are contagious. Stop by and have a drink or two or three.

Excellent bar, very cheap for a beer, yeh you are asked to play games, as you are all the rest of the bars, but i found the staff to be very friendly especially Aey, if you dont want to play a game then just say no.

We ordered a 2-for-1 cocktail special at 280THB, which is really expensive for 1 cocktail when you are in Phuket.
The "cocktails" were served in tumblers (The straws were cut in half just so that it wouldn't fall out of the glass) and both tasted exactly like frozen fruit juice, no alcohol whatsoever.
Poor way to end off our great 2 week vacation.
Do not waste your money here.

I first visited this bar several years ago and liked it then so I have returned to check it out. The bar is located next to the Aussie Bar. Nothing has changed except the owner. Same special offer 2 cocktails for the price of one. I stuck to the beer and toolk my place in the front so I could observe the endless crowd walking up and down Banga Road. The bar girls all have niece personalities but can be a bit pushy "you buy me drink" they should at least let you settle down before they ask. Gets worst if there are no customers, soon surrounded by 3 to 5 girls all chanting the same tune "you buy me drink". That aside, the bar plays good music and selection of beers. The girls will try to get you play a game or two, but I always give it a miss. They always win. I like to tease the girls but in general it is all good fun. There are,entry of bar options in Bangla Road but if you music, no pole dancing then head for the Honky Tonky bar. Back to Aussie now with fond memories and quite a few beers at this bar.

We sat down and staff brought connect 4 games over not explaining if we play with them we have to buy them a shot for €250 each shot !!! Making our bill €1000 more than what it should be demanding it is for the “staff drink”.

Tourist trap.They advertise buy one cocktail get one free but it's not a special at all, super expensive and the cocktails are served in tumbler glasses. They are over priced and take you for a ride. Please AVOID!!

Came here for a drink, 2 for 1 cocktails.
Next minute, playing a game of connect 4 with staff. Despite the fact I won, somehow I bought them a drink and they tried to give me and my partner 2x tequila shots which we declined. They still insisted we pay 500THB for the "staff" drinks. Complete scam!!!!!

We discovered this bar in Bangla road on our holiday. Great staff great bargain drinks,we never left disappointed.
