About
Adjacent to Patong Beach, this buzzing and vibrant strip is a great place to start your Phuket pub crawl. Enter past the iconic Patong Beach sign and prepare your senses for the neon lights, throngs of tourists and touts, street vendors selling snacks, and dance anthems pumping from the plethora of go-go bars and clubs. Those planning to partake in the evening festivities can purchase skip-the-line tickets in advance for entry to various nightclubs. Bangla Road sees dense crowds, especially during the peak holiday season in December. Park yourself at a bar, grab a beer and watch the night unfold. – Tripadvisor

The party side of a party Beach
It is chaos but good chaos. It's the party side of holiday in Phuket. Long row of clubs and bars and touts and massage parlors. It's a must visit and no doubt you will pay a lot of money for a party.

Patong Beach and Bangla Road from Cruise Port in Phuket
Traveling with a Family of 4 with college kids The main reason people come here is obviously: the beach! If you decide to spend the day on the beach, you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas, get a beach massage, try parasailing, or rent a jet ski. The beach is 3 kilometres long and often crowded in the middle part during the high season. The nearby Freedom beach is also one of the most beautiful public beaches in Phuket, and despite being just next to Patong, it has remained relatively untouched because it’s not easy to access. A long floating pontoon provides longtail boats to Freedom Beach during the high season. Beyond the beach and the nightlife, Patong has a surprisingly wide array of things to do for everyone. Patong nightlife rotates around Bangla Walking Street all the way to Rat-U-Thit Road (the second road parallel to the beach). Every evening from 6 pm, this road closes to the traffic and turns into a bustling walking street. There are rooftop bars, live music bars, go go bars, night markets, ziplines, cable skiing, cinemas, bowling and huge shopping malls. Since we took a day trip to Phang Nga Bay, the tour brought us back to port in plenty of time and we spent the last two hours or so to explore Patong Beach and Bangla Road for last minute shopping and free wifi. Plenty of time to look around town and the sites. I really enjoyed just walking around the beach town.

    It’s ok
It’s a busy part of Phuket with plenty going on. Depending on what you’re looking for, I’m sure you can find it here. It can get overwhelming so wouldn’t recommend kids. There are some good music bars but mostly go go bars. Drinks can vary in both price and quality - not that many great cocktails around.

Good place if you want a good night out.
This is the main party road in Patong. Firstly, I wouldn’t recommend bringing any children. It gets very busy and loud. There’s a lot of music bars. You do need to be weary but we had a whole night out and it was great. The cocktails are really good.

    Rather avoid with small children
This is definitely an area in Phuket where kids should rather not visit after dark (my opinion). My 7 year old asked all sorts of questions about the dancing ladies etc and I just think that the ping-pong sellers are a little too in your face. However, I do think its a good night out for adults, visited the New York bar and was blown away by the band - best rendition of Alicia Keys' New York I've ever heard (someone give that lady a music contract). I struggled somewhat with the concept of Western men on the prowl in Bangla road, but each to their own. Shopping great.

    A must visit
Hmm let’s just say that Bangla road is a fun night out. The ping pong show was everything and more than what we were expecting. Besides the cocktails being around $70 AUD each, it was worth the visit. Bangla road is a must if your staying in paying.

Ok for teens maybe not younger kids…
It’s a must do, has improved from 10 years ago when it was more seedy. The road is mostly bars and shops with rip off bags, runners, t shirts, sunglasses etc. you will see go go dancers, and drunk tourists, younger kids may not be suited to this environment.. I took my 13 and 17 yo who found it noisy, interesting, good shopping and crass in equal parts. You can go earlier in the afternoon if you want to see the street when it’s quieter- at night it really is busy noisy and more extreme, cannabis is now openly being sold in many shops also.

    Thai culture experience
Great atmosphere. Good shopping but you need to negotiate! Many 'back rooms' for shopping. 👜👛 We smiled and shook our heads when kindly refusing 'ping pong show' 🤣. Great food ! Worth the experience.

    Ok if youre close by
Pretty cool to check out but I didn’t find the talent as good as in Bangkok. The side streets and food places didn’t look as good either. Just saying if you try to visit here as well. The rest of Phuket is for relaxing and laying low the beaches are great Jd resorts etc. For me the hour ride here wasn’t worth it. Also got jipped at a local spot called Harem.

All your research on Phuket will tell you that Bangla Road is the most popular street in Phuket. After checking it out, I can safely say it could work for some, but not for us. Loud music, ping pong show ads everywhere with people hounding you to see the free show, which mind you is not free. The vibe of the place is weird, screams cheap and can be avoided completely.

Nothing can prepare you for your first walk down Bangla Rd, but I recommend doing it at least once.

The day and night versions of this street are like chalk and cheese!

The day is mostly bargain shopping and tailors trying to convince you that you need a new suit. It is open to traffic in the day.

In the evening is when it really comes alive. It is closed to motor vehicles. Be prepared for locals to be in your face, waving advertising signs for cheap drinks and/or ping pong shows. Of course, you can still find a tailor and do some bargain shopping, there’s just less vendors. And it gets loud, like, really loud!

Phuket is a fantastic holiday destination, great clubs, food and all night entertainment. Don't get me wrong the Patong beach is fantastic, but Phuket's become a party destination over the years. With more clubs, go go bars and beer bars concentrated in Bangla road then anywhere, you are in for a good time. We visited from 28 December 2019 to 1 January 2020 and the the countdown parties on the beach with a spectacular stage and big sound, hosting global dj's, were spectacular.

Bangla is arguably one of the best locations to go have a great night with your friends. There are so many bars on offer that you can actually become overwhelmed by the choices. Do not get roped into the first happy hour deal offered to you, keep walking because I guarantee you that there will better deals at other bars and night clubs. There are ping pong shows on offer but be wary of the fact that when they say free entry, your first drink during the show will cost you approximately 900Baht. And also remember that the nightclubs do not really get going until after 11pm so go to a bar first or the local open air food market for some great and affordable meals.

Saturday evening 15th February and we visited this busy road.

We did not venture very far down the street, it was extremely loud. There was live music blasting out from venues, which could be heard before we even got there.

People were shouting at us, from inside bars, to come inside. This definitely is the Party street.

We did visit the Night Market/ Street Food Market, mainly for some respite from the deafening sounds on the Street.

We soon left Bangla Road in search of somewhere quieter.

Very busy road lots of bars and clubs.
Be sure to pick out happy hour bars as you’ll get BOGOF on cocktails, some bars don’t offer this and you’ll pay double.

Ping pong show- Free entry to most but they’ll try and charge you 1000 baht for 1 beer (1 required per person to watch show for an hour) refuse this price and you can get them down to 400 baht each. Drinks after first one are 250+ each.

They’ll kick you out after an hour if you don’t buy another. (very strict on this)

Bangla road - we came back as we had a great time here a few years ago however it has changed . The street food that we so enjoyed last time has now gone and replaced by a food market . Lost all it's appeal . The Traders - so much more aggressive and less willing to bargain . The Loud Music is Louder . Our favourite Bar during the day is the Tiger Bar where we always got good service , cheap beers and a refresher towel . We did not visit any Bars at night .
The road is filthy and smelly but I suppose that is part of the attraction .
I think this is our last visit .

Went there with my family and then solo after that ...the hype which was created about this market was definitely a hype ...there was nothing exceptional apart from street food like pancakes and ice cream roll.
The market becomes sleazy after the sunset and I found it difficult to even stay there for more than 5 mins. The place starts stinking and with so many people at one place /street , the stink gets on to you and it seems that rather than the street , people are stinking . Absolutely not a place to visit with family after the sunset

If something "spicy" is what you're after then Bangla road is the place to be... With many side street markets to gorgeous men and women.. Some strutting their dance moves atop a bar, bands playing, someone tugging at your arm for a "special" party...the energy and vibrant activities.. Are you ready :-)

The walk only street ,noisy, disco lights, street dancers, the pole dancers ,street food, crazy shopping and bargaining, some rude experience as well with shop keepers not client centric.
The music is deafening to the ears, the booze flowing across every outlet practically ,hoardes of tourist and fun seekers, a place that can give the unexplored desires wings across age groups.
A kilometer of madness
