Looks like an artificial lake but in fact is natural. Nice location in the centre of town to have lunch or dinner and visit the temple, which in a Burmese style. Pick up a pack of fishfood at the jetty and get to see the masses of catfish that live there.

We caught this coming out of a nearby restaurant, lit up with the reflection of the temple in the water and it was spectacular.

An overpowering atmosphere with a great street food and trinket market alongside. A couple of nice bars and eating houses also. Worth the visit

Just average lake. Only really nice thing is the view over the lake towards the temple and all the lights at night. The lake is filled with fish.

A quaint market is set up every night around the lake. One side has yummy street food and further down there are hand woven clothes made by the Hill Tribe folk.

See it both in the day and at night when the lights reflect from the temple. Several nice shops nearby. Check out the t shirt shop. Meet the artist - Amwat. He is seriously talented

Located in the center of town, the lake is bordered by the fantastical Wat Jong Kum, a dazzling temple that lights up like Christmas come evening-time. Buy some noshes from the hawker stalls on the opposite side and enjoy a picnic on its banks, then explore the street vendors and Burmese-influenced handicrafts. A pleasant way to spend an evening in... More

The "lake" is really more of a pond, but it's in a lovely setting, and the park that surrounds it is wonderfully (almost disconcertingly) well groomed. (It feels like a little bit of Germany or Canada.) What really sets it apart from other well-situated bodies of water is the pair of Shan temples on one side of it. They are... More
