Lunch and Books
Feb 2020
There are two halves to this shop, my review is mostly on the restaurant side which also has a large collection of second hand books on display and various t-shirts and bits to buy. I believe the restaurant only serves until 5pm, they have a larger eating area upstairs but I enjoyed the atmosphere of the ground floor book/cafe....easy listening jazz and books to check out. Staff were very friendly. Stopped in a couple of times for beverages and snacks, very good cappuccino and baked offerings, also delicious cold drinks (banana nutella shake particularly tasty), and a menu offering a good selection (tried the pork mince on a mixed grain rice with watercress and butter lettuce...yum!). I did purchase a couple of books, one reasonably priced, the other over priced and unfortunately not negotiable. The books are paid for next door in the vintage store...I wouldn't say buddy is friendly but he was not rude as some seem to have experienced. The overpriced book once unwrapped, was clearly a cheaper print job.

Lunch in vintage book store
Feb 2020 • Couples
We accidentally found this place and decided to eat lunch here. We ate fried chicken burger and chicken teriaky, with Nutella and cookie milkshakes. Super good and fresh food and relaxing location. A nice break from the caos of the city. Defenitly recommend a visit!

I got used book in this place on my way to island, to have something to read for 5 days. The book was wrapped in plastic so you couldn't see inside of it. When I opened it on the island I saw a handwritten information on a front page that there are 50 pages missing (printers error). Thankfully I manage to get another book in my resort. I came back to this place on way back from islands to return the book and get the money back. I explained the situation but the guy said there is no way he will give my money back. When I resisted he get furios, started shouting, tried to kick us out from the store, said that maybe I torm the missing pages, and maybe book was stolen. He was extremly rude, I never expirienced anything like this. Finally, after a long battle he gave my half of the money back, and when I told him he should put information about missing pages on the cover and asked him if he is going to sell this book again the way it is, he'd torne the book into pieces.

Rudest shop owner ever
Jun 2018 • Solo
The man who manages the arts shop has shockingly rude manners. I asked him how much a bracelet was and he became furious. He jumped from his chair and went to the stall and showed me the price tags asking me if I have eyes! I didn't have time to say anything as he was speaking non-stop in an abhorrent way. Stay away, Thai people are normally polite, but service like the one in Pakarang doesn't deserve our money.

Stunning crab salad in a wonderful atmosphere
Nov 2017 • Couples
We happened to stumble upon Pakarang whilst looking for something to eat and was instantly impressed and charmed by this lovely place. We decided to eat upstairs on the balcony over looking the harbour and we were so glad that we chose this place to eat. My partner and I both opted for the crab salad and shared a sticky mango rice for pudding. (There is a really good amount of choice on the menu ) as in my pictures. The food was lush and the green tea was divine. We sat there for probably an hour after enjoying the relaxing atmosphere before we ventured down stairs and looked around their gift shop and book store. Brilliant place excellent food and really good value for money. We've been twice!

Comfy place

The food and drinks were delicious and delivered on time. We liked the atmosphere and reading traveling books (ie. Lonely Planet) that were on shelves while enjoying our meals. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely place but service not great.
Apr 2017 • Couples
Loved how this place looked, its like an old junk shop but a bit more than that, such a shame the service was so bad. They could not get the order right for 2 people, they tried three times but it just did not happen. Not sure what it was all about as the place only had a handful of people in it but if that how they are, they are not going to last long.

Aww well moving on......

Brilliant for books, shame out the restaurant.
Mar 2017 • Friends
I have been here twice for books and drinks. I love the little shops downstairs, they have a massive selection on books in different languages. The books are more expensive then any other second hand book shop but it is the best one in krabi.
The cafe upstairs is so lovely. The restaurants it's self is a nice area but I was waiting for my drink and bingsu for over 1 hour. I only ordered a glass of milk and I didn't receive it till I had to get up and ask for it. I don't mind waiting for over an hour if it was busy but I was in a group of 4 and when we arrived and ordered are drinks we were the only ones in there. I would definitely return to swap my books but I would pass on the cafe upstairs.

Great bookstore and restaurant
Feb 2017 • Solo
You can see the bookstore and shop from the street but the best thing about this place is the restaurant upstairs! Wonderful service and excellent food. The pizza toast is to die for! Also fantastic Thai food. Clean and safe
