PADI Open Water Diving Course
Mar 2020 • Solo
Did the diving course with Kontiki last week. Had done the theory online in advance, so did one day in the pool, and two days with open water diving from their boats.

My instructor was “divewithafinn” Samuel. Absolute pro. Patient, knowledgeable and a good laugh.

Refreshments on the boats are lovely and adequate. The other personnel, helpful and kind.

The office was very helpful, when I had to cancel/rearrange the last day at short notice due Covid 19.

All in all a lovely time. I hope to be back for more adventures next year!

Very professional
Aug 2019 • Couples
Went snorkeling near the Phi Phi islands with these guys. Great set up and well organised. Lunch was yum, everything was explained and guides assigned in good time .
Sadly the first stop in Phi Phi Don showed how badly this area is affected by people, was a coral graveyard. Plenty of fish though.
The second stop had coral and fish.
Please wear coral friendly suncream so you don't add to the reef death.

Wonderful Experience
Nov 2018 • Couples
This is one dive shop that treated us not like clients but like warm loved family members. From the booking at their Ao Nang beach road shop to the pick up next morning at 7.30.. To the welcome on their boat at the pier.. It was all done in a manner that left us feeling special.
FON our dive master is perhaps the only THAI girl who's doing a dive master's job in Krabi. She's truly as her name suggests.. FUN to be with.. She made us feel immediately welcome and handled our group with a meticulous eye for every small detail.. As well as put us at complete ease with regard to any special needs or requirements some of us may have had on the dive.
The two hour cruise to Phi Phi Islands itself was a treat.. It's a really large boat with two main decks.. Three levels in all..
Very comfortable with enough breakfast, lunch, tea, and rehydrating liquids on board. I'd say even without the diving just the two hours to the island and two hours return were great cruises.
As far as the dives were concerned the water was thirty degrees with roughly ten meter visibility. The marine life was varied and the coral fairly colorful. Overall a good fun dive experience. Of course our dive master FON was highly alert on the dive and always in full control and that made for a reassuring dive experience, specially for the two novice divers we had in the group .
The equipment used by Kontiki was almost new and in excellent condition.
I'd say kudos to her for her briefing, set up, overall hospitality and warm friendly yet professional approach to all in her group. We felt truly satisfied with the entire experience.
Keep up the good work Kontiki and hopefully there will be more lady dive masters soon like FON in the future.

Amazing scuba experience
Dec 2016 • Couples
My girlfriend and I tried this, did the Scuba Diver course, of 2 days long. First day is in the pool learning about, safety, techniques, basic equipment to ensure safety and pleasure.

Day 1: We had a extremely enthusiastic and knowledgable instructor, Tobias. Tobias made the learning curve easy as, with you ever step and gave hints and tips for those whom haven't ever been scuba diving before. This's made day one extremely pleasurable despite the required book learning. Tobias made us both comfortable in the water especially when I was a little stressed under water and he got me above water and made sure safety was his number 1 priority. Very professional and passionate.

Day 2: Today we had a different instructor as Tobias was sick. At first we were cautious however the handover was perfect and our second instructor Tomas, made us feel extremely comfortable. The Open water dives ran smoothly, and Bida Islands were a hit.. Tomas again like Tobias was Passionate and safety and teaching skills was his number 1 priority. We ran drills before moving onto the dive. This safety became apparent when another diver in my group accidentally got tangled with his arm against me and Carmody I remembered the training from Tobias and Tomas, used a skill to regain the regulator whilst slowly breathing out. Tomas clearly knew his profession well including all underwater ecosystems and we saw a lot of wild life, yet not touching or destroying any.

The whole day is planned, Kontozis have everything "SORTED" from sea sickness tablets, water, "Hydrolight" (potassium etc), lunch, all safety equipment and any problem with any gear they fixed. At the end he goes through the dive logbook and checks and clears everything off, then we were dropped back at our hotel.

Amazing experience, thank you Both Tobias and Tomas for the amazing experience.

Great excursion in Ao Nang!
Jan 2016 • Couples
My wife and I knew we had to go for a dive / snorkel on our honeymoon in Thailand. The location was directly across from our Resort in Krabi (Krabi resort), with incredibly friendly and professional staff.

Prices were competitive as compared to many different shops along the main stretch and the organization was well done. The entire excursion was organized and safe. Doing a 3 stop tour including a stop at Phi Phi island for an hour to sightsee.

Our guides took the time to ensure our safety and our enjoyment throughout the day. We had an educational, fun day under the sea.
My dive guide, Matilda was phenomenal. It is clear that diving is not only her job but it is also her passion.

I would highly recommend anyone visiting in Krabi with a day to spare, to take the time to book with this group.

Nice Snorkeling Trip
Apr 2014 • Family
Everything went well on my day long snorkeling trip with Kontiki to the Phi Phi islands. The pick up at the hotel was courteous and on time, all the staff was professional and personable. The boat was comfortable and snacks and non alcoholic drinks were provided the entire time, with a very nice lunch also provided. The snorkeling and diving spots around Phi Phi were very nice, although something should be done about the trash floating around in Phi Phi's water. I came back to the boat with my pockets stuffed with plastic bags that I found floating around me, I couldn't stand to just leave them there.

Island hopping around Krabi
Apr 2014 • Family
This was a fun day hopping from island to island by speedboat. We had a very nice Swedish guide who spoke excellent English. We visited Hong Island with quite little coves and some pretty reefs to snorkel over. We then went to Buddah Island to walk through the jungle on a sandy path, so we could go barefoot. We again had time to lounge around and snorkel for a while. We stopped near the entrance of a tiny cove. Unfortunately the water was not deep enough for the speedboat to go all the way in. Chicken Island was a lunch stop at a very rustic little restaurant, which served a great buffet. When the tide is out, you can walk across to another little island on the sand. We then went to West Railey Beach and walked for about 25 minutes. At first I wondered why on earth we were taking such an ugly route behind the back of hotel dumpster, water tanks and through run-down bars strewn with garbage….then we arrived under beautiful rock formations. This area apparently harbored victims from the Tsunami. A little further and we emerged onto a tiny beach which has 2 small caves full of phallic statues, carvings and stones. Apparently leaving these penis images for the female spirit in the caves is to bring fertility and good fortune. The spirit is of a fisherman’s wife who lost her husband at sea. She waited for him in these caves to return, when he did not, she never married again.
