Dual pricing makes a positive review impossible
Oct 2019
Stop dual pricing. Why trying to fleece foreign vistors? It is a shame that the price for foreigners has to be so much higher.

Nothing special and masisvely overpriced
Oct 2019
Literally a few pieces of rock with minimal fossils in them, if you were on a beach walk you'd stop and look at it then move on and probably wouldn't bother to take a photo as it is nothing out of the ordinary. Luckily when I went the guard was asleep so I didn't need to pay the entry fee, if I did I would have felt completely ripped off.

Awful dual pricing scam.
Sep 2019
Total rip off, ridiculous, there is nothing to see. Entrance fee: foreigners pay 5 times the price Thais people pay.

Boring place
Feb 2020 • Solo
I was there today, and they lowered the admission fee to 100 THB, but honestly it didn't make the place any more interesting. Looks like lots of concrete blocks piled up. The toilet looked anusing, though.

Give it a miss

Just another rip off charging tourists for access. Nothing to see here. The local shops sell things made out of shells like wind chimes. All of which you can buy cheaper elsewhere.

Nice Beach but not worth the Admission Fee
Dec 2019
I opted not to pay the 200 baht admission fee and my Thai wife went alone. From outside, the beach areas looked pretty but not so great. When my wife returned, she agreed that is was not so interesting. There is also a group of souvenir shops which are also boring with duplicated products.

Not worth
Dec 2019 • Solo
If you are keen to buy unexpensive souvenirs, it is worth to visit. All the rest not spectacular. 200 THB it's therefore not justified.

Not really a tourist attraction
Nov 2019 • Couples
Foreigners are charged 200 Baht which is five times what Thai nationals pay. I think this is an excessive amount to charge tourists. Peered down the cliff, tide was in so didn't seem there would have been much to see.

Not that special but nice
Sep 2019
Nice to see this but enough to spend 10-15 minutes there.
200 BHT is a ripoff for just to see a fossil beach.
The souvenir shops however are selling things cheap and you can shop there without paying the entrance fee so there is that...

Informative with a good view
Sep 2019 • Couples
The easy drive to Fossil Shell Beach was pretty good and well signposted. Definitely take the time to Google "tide times Ao Nang" before visiting to make sure you arrive at low tide for best viewing.

200 baht entry fee for foreigners (40 baht for Thai). Some good informative signage at the top of the stairs, with a nice view over Ko Poda.

If your interest is fossils, definitely worth a look, but if you're going out of curiosity, the view point may just be enough of an experience.

There are a lot of vendors at the car parking area, so plenty of opportunity to purchase refreshments after the stairs.

If you're driving yourself, parking was available when we visited, but was limited.
