Having done previous Thai cooking classes I decided to do a whole day course which cost 2600THB for both the morning and afternoon session. It turned out I was the only person on the course that day so there was rather a lot of food. The previous day there were nine students .However the tuition was excellent. The main difference between the morning and afternoon course was the morning course included a market visit and making coconut milk from fresh and the afternoon course included vegetable sculpture , which only involved turning a chilli into a flower. For first time Thai cookery students I would say the morning course would probably be of more interest although the standard of tuition was very good on both morning and afternoon courses, especially if you re having one to one teaching.Transport to and from the hotel at the beginning and end of the course is included in the price but not travel incurred between the morning and afternoon session. You get to choose what dishes you want to make from the list provided. All in all I d say it was good value for money and well taught.

I was on a class with my 8 year old son. It was such a lovely experience, we made food that looked and tasted like the best restaurants. My son liked it too even though he don’t speak that much English, but he learned something anyway. Our hostess vas very friendly and everything was very clean and neat.
If you want to learn some Thai cooking I can recommend.

A superb afternoon had by all of us - 7 of us in total (3 adults and 4 kids). Just us and a perfect lesson. The chef was so friendly and helpful and knows her stuff. Wow.

The food itself was so delicious - all of the dishes. And there was a lot for us all to eat.

Highly highly recommended. It doesn't look like much when you drive down the small alley to get to it but great fun.

We were staying at a resort style hotel that had offered a Thai cooking class that I was looking forward to - only to learn that they weren't going to run it on any of the days we were staying there. We found this local Cooking Academy and booked in for a class. We were picked up in a taxi from our hotel, taken to the market place where we were met by "Ya Ya" our instructor. She took us into the market to buy vegetables and spices to make four different dishes. She was fabulous at explaining the differences in what produce we might have 'at home' compared to what is available in Thailand. It was then a short walk to the Academy for our private class with Ya Ya. I cannot speak highly enough of her ability to demonstrate and explain the cooking processes and in the end we ate our 4 different dishes. If I'd not cooked it myself, I'd have said it was the Massaman Curry I've ever eaten! The experience was great - if I'd known how great it would be I would have organised every day of our stay in Hua Hin around doing a new class with this excellent instructor.

I booked in for an afternoon class, but was never picked up, when I managed to get in touch with them I wasn't even offered an apology or explanation by the extremely rude manager. I really wanted to take a class and only had one day left in Thailand so I rebooked for the next morning as I had no other options at that point. I LOVED the class. I had so much fun and as quite an experienced cook I still feel that learnt a great deal.
I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the poor management.

My teenage son and I decided to book in for this cooking class. Aside from ourselves, there were two other business men who had a day off due to the Thai holidays. What an absolutely amazing find!

In advance of our trip, we were presented with various menus to choose from (we both chose to cook different things). We met with our host early morning and went to the market to source items we would later be cooking. Seeing a coconut being ground is something very good to see. We also learnt the traditions of the market and went around various stalls (I returned later that day to buy spices to recreate some of my dishes at home).

The class itself was easy to follow. I am a seasoned cook, but my teenager was a beginner, but never once felt he was falling behind. We cooked four dishes, all restaurant or above quality. Learnt the difference between coconut cream and milk (which I have to say, I've never realised before, by making it ourselves). I have subsequently entertained friends at home with dishes I made at this establishment and they have all turned out perfectly.

Nothing is left to chance on this course. You have the instructor and many kitchen hands who whisk dishes away as you use them. Thoroughly and totally recommended. Worth every single penny. I will return again to learn a few more tricks.

Do not eat beforehand. So much food (think four dishes). They are happy to pack these up for you to take home. An absolute highlight of our trip.

We joined the Hua Hin cooking school for Thai cooking class yesterday morning. We were collected from our hotel and started at the market for a quick shopping tour, for fresh ingredients.

Then onto the cooking school where we started by making coconut cream and milk from fresh grated coconut from the market.

Chef Ya and her team are very organised, and she goes through the preparation of your dishes with you each step of the way as you chop and slice.

We ground, sliced and prepared all the ingredients for our chosen dishes first, then moved over to the cooking kitchen to cook everything in Thai woks. And then sat down to a delicious lunch of all we had made, It’s turns out to be a lot of food.

It was a fun morning full of information and flavour and we would definitely recommend this course.

If I had to select my favourite dish, I’d say it was the green curry, but they were all really good!:)

Thank you Chef Ya!:)

The spot we wanted was full so we were moved to another time and had a private class for the 2 of us! Clean premise with focus on food safety. The teacher was friendly with lots of knowledge. The food was sooo good (we had heaps!) and the recipes are quite easy to reproduce at home. I would definitely recommand it.

We went as a family of 5 with grown up kids, all of us interested in cooking. We had the most amazing afternoon, we all chose our own 4 separate dishes to prepare, which was mind boggling, but Chef Pa was extraordinary. She coordinated and conducted a brilliant afternoon, we all made our favorite dishes, learnt a lot and left absolutely stuffed with the best Thai food eaten on this trip, can’t recommend her and her staff more highly.
