Travelled in November and was really looking forward to visiting this venue. Unfortunately it has been permanently closed and is no longer in operation.

A great change from sunbathing!

I found this a very interesting tour of the process of Thai silk making. The gift shop is rather expensive but you don't have to buy anything!

Not a lot here.

Not a lot to look at. More a building than a village.

Some information boards telling about silk, silkworms etc, some photos, some threads, some looms and that's about it.

All done in 10 minutes.

Reasonable price...

Visited the place, bought 5m of silk for Mongolian traditional dress so called "deel". Friends and families found it nice silk after all. Specially those raw silks with natural color

Interesting little museum

Dropped in while waiting for a friend at the tailor nearby. Got a little tour of silk production, and looked at the devices for it.
Wouldn't make an effort to get there, but drop in if you are around.

Could give it a miss!

We were not particularly enamoured by the visit. I suggest if you do have time do check out the town & nearby attractions.

Disappointed
May 2016 • Couples
We went to the village 10 years ago. We thought that we would go back again. It had moved to another location. It was less than quarter of the size of the original and the shop that was attached had also moved this was also disappointing as the original had a lot of little silk gifts. Also a member of staff was hovering all the time. We were advised that their lease had run out and that a hotel is now on the original sight. Not worth a visit.

An interesting place.

A small display of how silk is made and produced. Interesting and leads you to the Mike & Co Tailor on the same lot. Very friendly, reliable and helpful upmarket Tailor, who came and picked me up at the Hotel so I order a pair of silk pants, very happy with them, pure Thai silk, very nice and reasonably priced.

An Interesting Place
Mar 2016
We really enjoyed our tour here, so many interesting things to learn about the long process it had taken to make the silk. The finished product in the shop is absolutely stunning, no pressure to buy though.

This is where you get your souvenirs

We came for quality silk and pashmina - not to see the processnthat requires only about 15 minutes - so we left very satisfied. Genuine goods, no middle man, no negotiations, better value than the shops we walked into in Chiang Mai.
