Prior to visiting Hua Hin, I had read about the Thai Massage by the blind so I had to go there to experience this. The building is situated south of the Golden Palace. Upon arrival you are greeted by a female office member of staff who is not blind and speaks very little English. A few days earlier I had a massage at my hotel that was very expensive compared to the prices listed at this venue so I was bit apprehensive. On one wall there is a list of all the workers detailing their qualifications and photographs.

I requested a traditional Thai massage for one hour, price THB 200 in comparison to the hotel price of THB 1800. A middle aged female masseuse was assigned who led me into the communal massage room, wearing a tee shirt and jeans; she was thin, looked weak and did not speak English. I was asked by another masseuse ‘Light, medium or firm’ I replied ‘firm’. I was given a pair of clean cotton pyjama type trousers to wear. The room was clean had air-conditioning and reminded me of an old hospital ward there were four beds in a row with curtains for privacy. There was another man being worked on by a blind masseuse he was talking to her in Thai, sometimes in agony. There was no need to close the curtain as the ladies were blind and I was in plain view of the other man. My masseuse, although appearances can be deceptive, had strong hands and knuckles got working on me, it was agony at certain points, I had not told her about my aching shoulder but she found it and worked on it thoroughly. This masseuse was good and gave me a good work over after which I felt a lot better and revived.

After completing the task, the blind masseuse then changed the bed sheets and stood in front of me for the money. I felt compelled to give more than the price listed, she was happy with the additional cash and left the room to join her other colleagues sitting outside.

Full marks for the Thai Massage by the Blind, I fully recommend it.

I was recommened this place by a good friend. the massage by the blind is located just next of south of the golden palace at the Petchasem Road Main Road. I was welcomed by the local manager Mr. Pong and his wife and they inquired my wishes. Blind people have a more sensitive cre about doing the different kind of massage. Whether you are interested in foot massage, body massage or even oil massage the ten blind masseurs will help you. You will
enjoy and relax, before you start the massage you are getting new cloth. Just lay down, close your eyes, relax and enjoy. Approximately 10 blind masseurs work for this salon.
Give the blind people a meaning in their live and support them by taking their massage.

Its always difficult to choose a massage place and so I chose here. Beside being extremely relaxing, totally professional and easy to enjoy I just wish more people would go here!

I had severe sciatica when I went for my massage here. The therapist was professional and confident massaging me to alleviate my pain which she did. It was not gone by the end of the 90 minutes but it was considerably better and I will certainly return. It is slightly more expensive than other good centers like Day and Night by the night bazaar but in my case it was well worth it.

I visited the place with a friend. It was not so easy to find, as the entrance had a rather plain sign sandwiched between the palace and Golden Place.
Neither of us spoke Thai, but the staff were friendly and professional so we didn't run into any difficulties from the language barrier. We both got Thai massages, and it was quite the experience! They really do push very firmly, which may not be to everyone's liking. Still they do know what they are doing because we left the place feeling simply amazing.
We really liked the experience we got at the place went back a couple of times more. Definitely worth a try while in Hua Hin

We went there for several years, every time we visited the Hua Hin area. It's just where the Royal property starts (coming from Hua Hin).

We didn't find it great and somehow discovered that the house (surrounded by grounds) right next door (to the left if facing the blind massage place) is Hua Hin Beauty and Spa, with the usual types of massage. It has no sign, you just have to venture in.

It's really only a little more expensive but the place is gorgeous, clean, quiet and spacious - and they are never very busy. The massage ladies are older and more respectable-looking than in many of the massage places.

Suggest advance booking, however. It's just that kind of upmarket place.

Also nearby, to the right of the blind massage place, is Golden Place, with lots of organic fruit and veg and much, much more. Open 24 hours.

I have been here several times now and will keep coming back!

There used to be a place in Cha-Am but for unknown reasons it closed 3-4 years ago, so now this place in Hua Hin is the closest.

Don't worry about them being blind, they will do their utmost to make sure that you are ok, asking from time to time "Djep Mai" does it hurt and just answer in English, even if they don't speak English they know yes and no.

Depending on your pain threshold, go for a 1 or 2 hour session, 2 hours can be too much for some but coming back is almost a given.

Should they start to rub you with oil, make sure that this is what you want, it is not normal! Just say no, Thai massage please, then they know what you want.

Do expect to be touched, and if you have hair on your chest, like I do, also expect that assistance might be called (so to speak) as everyone want to touch the big monkey 😙😂

Just laugh and relax everything will be "Sanuk mag". A lot of fun

The place is highly recommend

The map was wrong on here and took us to the complete wrong end of the main road. After over an hours walk in the wrong direction, looked up the details again and turned around. A tuktuk ride sorted us out to the right place. Note to self, double check the map next time on TripAdvisor! (Just been reported as wrong)

Massage was very good and my massus found all the right places to dig into. Walked out feeling an inch taller and much more relaxed. Will visit again before I leave town for sure.

If you are into Thai massage, here is the place. Most of the masseur/masseuse are well trained thus deliver a quality thai massage. Importantly you are supporting the blind to earn their living.

My recommendation is to have someone who speaks Thai calls and books the appointment for you in advanced. The best would be to accompany you to the place and to ensure the adequate communication. So that you achieve the best experience of Thai massage (doesnt need to be painful and can be adjusted to the customer need).

NOTE: the location has temporary changed from Soi 39 next to Golden Place to Soi 41, at the end of the Alley

Enjoy!
