This was a fun market, the oldest of the markets I visited in Hua Hin I believe. There was a little meat and lots of Seafood. Frogs and the like also available. Large fruit stands with lots of exotic fruits, vegetables, and herbs and spices. Some prepared foods. I enjoyed some mango with sticky rice from a famed local purveyor. If you like fish paste, fish sauce, shrimp and crab anything, dried seafood, it is all right here and looks to be of very high quality. Crabs gleam blue and are beautiful.

I've read a few reviews on Chatchai Market and I think some of the reviewers are confusing it with the Hua Hin night market.
Chatchai is a day market primarily patronized by locals buying food. It is a wet/dry market with an absolutley amxaing array of fresh and cooked food available.
We visit it early (before 8am) and thorughly enjioy the experience each time!
Located off Phetkaem Rd (main Rd thru Hua Hin) in Soi 72, do yourslef a favor and go for a look!
Note: If your there early before 8am, beware that at 8am the National Anthem is played and it is expected everyone stops moving and removes their hats if wearing.

In our experience the further you get out of town the cheaper (mei pang) things become, this marketIs medium on the scale. It's half the price of Bangkok or Patong in Phuket, but not as cheaper as the regional markets.
You can find fruit, dinner, street foods, clothes, toys and souvenirs. Nothing too startling that you can't find at other markets throughout Thailand, but it's fun and worth an evening visit.

Chatchai Market (Hua Hin Night Market) is an old market in Hua Hin, well-known among domestic and international tourists, located near Phetchakasem Road. This market was built in 1926 after the royal initiative of King Rama VII. The market structure was made of reinforced concrete with a 7-curved roof, symbolizing its construction during the reign of King Rama VII. Nowadays, it is a market for souvenirs, as well as fresh and preserved food.

we went there for dinner (snack jack), bought fruits and snack to hotel to enjoy for supper. All at very cheap price. The yummy mango sticky rice was the best i tasted before. must go there again at my next trip in Hua Hin.

This is the Night Market area and I personally think this place beats Market Village ! There are plenty of lots selling knicks and knacks . The front road is packed full of Night Market traders selling food and clothes . You will feel so at home here with plenty of choices to eat , drink and shop . Please try their street food especially the ice cream desert stall operated by a simple lady located in front of Tesco Lotus Store !

Pretty standard market. T-shirts, fake watches and other small item stuff.
Further up the street are different seafood restaurants, some good some not so good. Different food stands and bars are thrown in the mix.
As with any fake market buyer beware.

Interesting 45 minutes activity: walk around at this lively fresh market! Everything from vegetables, meats, fish, ready made food, herbs, drinks and trinkets for sale! There's even a few tailors around. Absolutely a real taste of the local food scenery!
