Most visitors to Hat Yai won't think of coming here but you should. It's a very informative museum with English captions and a really good collection of stuffed wildlife, rocks, seashells etc. There's even a play area with toy dinosaurs if your kids would like to play some more.

This place is not big, but I spent at least 2 hours there. It's very quiet unless there are school children. Walk at your own leisure and get amazed by the exhibits, most of it has English notes, though not all. Good for those who wants to spend some quiet time under shelter from the heat or rain. The only problem I have is to find a parking lot for my car. Most car park lots were taken up and we have to park quite a far walking distance from the museum.

This relatively new Museum is based on two floors... and is located on the Campus of the "Prince of Songkla University". The University is supported by Thailand's King. A visit will help one understand much better an aspect of Thailand's history... One floor focuses on a "Royal Bio-fuel Project" while the other portrays aspects of a previous king and his studies abroad and broader interests [e.g. medicine]. It is worthy of a visit!!

The museum consist of to floor. I could only visit the top one as I went off the visiting time (9,10,13,14)

The exhibition is through a kind of maze where one will learn a lot about rama (5) ( the one who died young and went in the UK for study

Its a lot about what he did for the Thai. Where he went, etc. all is eng/ tha so easy to read.

ie: a battleship in the dusit zoo lake. His navy school in germany before wwI. His medical study in the US.

A other part is about the royal project on bio fuel.
The uni is under the patronage of the king.

I must say I was privileged as the director did the tour with me.

The other floor is mainly about the uni itself and the achievement it did ( but I had no time to visit)

Should you go there? Well yes for a bit of history. Nice air com when hot. Nice shelter when it rain ( my case)

Not much for the children.
