Wat Pra Sing is a Buddhist temple located almost on Chiang Rai city center and was built in 14th century. It has a Calm & Relaxing area. If you travel to North of Thailand its recommended for Visiting and Meditating. You can find there many Buddha images and Buddhist elements.

As a self-styled connoisseur of Buddhist Temples in Thailand, this temple was pretty impressive. I like it when they mix dark red or brown with gold. It really makes the building stand out from the rest.

If you’ve visited many Thai temples as I have, you might be templed out, or you might be just as excited as you were on your first temple visit. I’m always excited to visit Thai temples and this temple was no exception.

Beautiful building, nice painting and decorated in Thai colours, be sure not to give this a miss. The entrance gate is very impressive and the building is very picturesque.

We were the only tourists when we went to explore yesterday afternoon around 2pm. Its a small but very beautiful temple complex with elaborate details to see. We also saw some young student monks which was nice.

All in all a nice, quiet peaceful wat away from the tourists, and historically important - worth a stroll around.

one of the significantly essential ancient monastery of Chiang Rai town history.

the main chapel was built in Lanna traditional structure style, in particular the beautiful elaborately wooden craving doors which had designed by Ajarn Thawan Dutchanee, the great well known reputation master in world class level artist.

the doors craving has deeply depicted sophistication buddhism philosophy which related to the existence of 4 fundamental elements within human body in symbolic presentation.

Earth was represent by 'elephant'
Water was represent by 'Naga'
Wind was represent by 'Garuda'
and Fire was represent by 'Lion (Singa)'

definitely worth for visiting place

So beautiful and feel peace when you there, nice small temple, One of Chiang Rai oldest temple, Tum our private guide very knowledge tell as the wat phra sing was build in 1385 and was founded by king mengrai in 1262, the main structures of the lanna style and a chapel containing a footprint of the budda and kuti or monks living quarters. The oldest original structure still standing today in Buddhist temples of Northern Thailand is usually the chedi or pagoda. The gold plated Sinhalese style chedi of the Wat Phra Singh stands behind the viharn. It consists of a square base with small shrines on its sides that contain Buddha images and a spiral shaped top. The temple grounds are open daily from 6 am until 5 pm. Admission is free. We thanks tum for amazing day.

Quiet time at small Wat.
Not big Wat as compared to other Wats across Thailand. If you happen to be across this area, then its alright to visit the Wat and have some quiet time.

We had arranged an individual tour around the sights of Chiang Rai, the Golden Triangle through Chai Machete Tours and came here for a look round. Much smaller and quieter than its counterpart in Chiang Mai. Nice and peaceful.

Enjoyed this temple that we passed on our self temple hopping trip around Chiang Rai! Great details and a good visit, despite the construction happening around.
