A beautiful temple with lots of history. Right in the heart of Chiang Rai and walking distance from downtown.

Came here for an hour early morning. The museum building, as well as the main building (red, at the back) are spectacular and very educational. The emerald Buddha is gorgeous and definite must see when in Chiang Rai, especially if you have seen the original...More

Museum was well done and provided a booklet to read on all the artifacts. Very clean, peaceful and easy to access.

It was beautiful but overcrowded. Difficult to get the pictures you would want without bothering people who were praying. Definitely worth a visit but be prepared to spend some time if you want good photos.

Small temple housing a small jade Buddha. This is significant temple best known for originally housing the emerald Buddha in 13th century. Interesting paintings on the wall depicting the emerald's journey over the centuries. Some beautiful orchids flowering in grounds of the complex.

We enjoyed our visit. This temple had a lot of interesting information in English. Very pretty. The children enjoyed lighting candles and incense. If you like visiting temples this is worth a visit.

Spend time. Breath and sit down. Walk around and look at the art, all artworks tell a story and there are information available if you look, or ask. If not, remember that buddhist don't do missionary work. Find you own way.
