a panoramic view of Myanmar-Laos-Thailand borders from the mountain top of Dog Sa Ngo, sunrise from Laos and sunset to Myanmar plus a good view of Doi Nang Non (sleeping beauty) in Mae Sai district, the homestays run by Akha families are simple but memorable, only from November-February Location: ** accessible by private car to the Akha village near the top, but need to park in the village then usually take the farmer’s truck up to the mountain top, the unpaved road from the village is risky, mountain bike or motorcycle is OK for the experienced one Universal design: * the place is not easily accessible for wheelchair person, bamboo walkways with some part of high stepping are quite difficult, no disabled toilet and parking Cleanness: *** the homestay room and toilet is generally clean but the outdoor is quite messy esp. when there are a lot of travelers come up in the peak winter time Safety: *** no security guards, but the place seem to be quite safe, be careful esp. when there are many travelers, elderly and children should be careful when walking over the bamboo walkways, mosquitoes at sunset Food: **** included breakfast at the homestay is simple, an Akha meal dinner set for two people seem to be expensive but worth to try and learn the local cooking Privacy: ** if you need privacy, just choose the homestay with separate cottage, some problem with other noisy travelers during the peak weekend in the winter time Staffs: **** the homestay run by the Akha families, they are friendly and informative, enjoy sharing the experience with them Facilities: ** homestay here is not the place for those who need luxurious facilities, drinking water and clean bath towel are available, no soap or shampoo, no air-conditioned room, TV, refrigerator

Must see location...
Jul 2019 • Family
This is a beautiful location to visit. The views of both the Mekong valley and another valley (don’t know name) are stellar. It’s off the beaten path and there are no temples but it is very unique and worthy of a ton of picture taking. Need to take a car to the base and then walk up. It’s basically a camp ground but it was the #1 liked place we visited. You won’t be disappointed if you like nature and views

Nice view
Nov 2017 • Friends
A bit off the bitten path.

Follow the narrow road that passes villages do keep a look out for pot holes and dogs.

At the end of the road rough dirt track takes over. Follow the track all the way to the peak of the mountain. For a wonderful view.

There is a cafe on the top that also sells coffee beans grown locally. Those who would like to spend a night. There are huts that you can stay in for the night

Nice Place to see Golden Triangle
Feb 2017
I visited there on February 19 evening sunset time. If you are not a nature lover, you will give only one star rating. Because It was very natural place without pretending. I really appreciated their idea and highlight to Akha hill tribe. These village located near Chiang Rai,Mae Sai , Chiang Sean and lovely Golden Triangle. Highest point from there was 709 meter above sea level. It was nice place to see Golden Triangle and sunset. I saw bamboo small houses. Cost for normal bamboo house was 1500 baht and bigger VIP bamboo house was 2500 baht per night. It was very natural place with 100 % peacefully. I felt fresh cool breeze and sunshine from paradise. For looking around travellers, they charged 20 baht per head as charity. Also can stay at temporary tent like adventure tourist.
