We had a simply amazing time at Sailing Club Hua Hin. Our lively 10 year old was signed up to do a RYA basics of sailing course over five days and, luckily, the July weather held up well. While our daughter, a complete novice to start with, learned the basics of dinghy sailing on the Gulf of Thailand, we sat comfortably on shore, being extremely well looked after by Nam and her lovely team. The kitchen here is absolutely first rate and we enjoyed tasty Thai curries, chicken fried rice, som tum papaya salad and many other delicious dishes throughout the week. The beer is cold and the food is also incredibly reasonably priced. Our daughter was so proud of her Level 2 sailing certificate. With huge thanks to Richard and the entire team at Sailing Club Hua Hin. Very highly recommended!

Located right on the beach, this great little spot served good quality European and Thai food, quickly, without any issues or fuss.
The staff were very friendly and the food was very good quality, especially considering the cost (not expensive compared with the nearby hotels).
When we visited there were two groups of dingy sailing family’s who came in after their morning sailing for some lunch, as well as a number of groups arriving by car or having walked along the beach. The place was clean and had a good atmosphere

This is a fantastic place to get your weekly dinghy sailing fix! They have opti's, and lasers for rent on a half day or full day rental. They area equipped to train from the absolute beginner to the more experienced. They have a fleet of Finns which race a couple of times a week, big friendly guys who are happy to race against you in a hired laser. Racing, training and coaching all levels - great place to spend a few days, massage on the beach, breakfast, lunch or dinner on the deck - great food. The club is in Cha Am, 15 mins from Hua Hin, near the Novotel/the Regent. Did I say the food is great!

Great place for both experienced and those learning The club offers great tuition in a relaxed atmosphere
As newcomers to the sport we signed up for a few lessons and were able to sail solo within a few days - a great experience - Relaxed and friendly with a good restaurant/bar.

For anyone wanting to do a bit of sailing whilst away, an absolute gem! The club is situated betwen the Regent hotel and Beach Garden hotel. We travelled up from Hua Hin by public bus each time and was easy to get to. Family run business. Main man is Richard who is really knowlegeable and helpful. He's built a good team around him - offering 5 Lasers, a Bahia and optomists. Wind is typically light in the morning and improves into the afternoon. We were sailing with 8- 12 knots each time and was great fun.
The club offers monthly membershop from 1500 baht and its then from 500 baht for half a day sailing. Good bar area where family can watch and they also serve great food. Beats a cold UK anytime! Highly recommend for both experienced sailors and those wanting to learn. Richard also instructs - so a great way to teach the kids. They also ran mini-races on Sunday am.

I visited Richard and his team for a week - hadn’t sailed since I was a kid and learned to handle the super nice and fun laser dingy within a few days and was very comfortable after a week.
It’s been one of the best active experiences for a long time because of a few important points that makes Richard’s sailing school brilliant:
1) the instructors a great and super friendly
2) the place is a small paradise by the beach
3) the restaurant at the school is incredibly good and the staff are the nicest you could ever imagine
4) Richard is a great guy person with lots of sailing wisdom and very social

Nice place with several Laser sail boats you can rent for a very reasonable price. Good food and frozen glasses for your Chang or Singha.

A wonderful place, a wonderful club, wonderful people... : a place with a heart ! And a place for everyone: you can, of course, learn how to sail or hire a boat for a decent price, with skilled people and good security standards, but you can also have fresh food/drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. People here are passionate about sailing, and they also are able to make you feel comfortable as a learner. We were warmly welcomed and spent a great time. Highly recommended.

Am going to be in Hua Hin in Sept. 2018....Could some tell me what I could pay for a 1/2 or 1 hr hire to use a small sailing dinghy without being a club member.
Regards Richard.....also how far the club is from Wora Bura resort or Avani Resort and Spa...thanks
Written August 8, 2018
Hi, Wora Bura is about 20 kms from the Sailing Club. We're half way between Hua Hin and Cha Am. If you put Sailing Club Hua Hin into Google maps you'll see exactly where we are. Avani is much closer, about 8 kms away.
We have Lasers and Optimists for rent. We allow non members one introduction for 1,000 Baht and 500 Baht respectively. That's for 2 hrs but effectively half day as we don't check the clock. If you want to come back then it's 1,500 Baht and 750 baht. But if you're going to come twice then you're better of being a member (1,200 Individual and 1,500 Family). Lessons, if required are free but must be booked well in advance. Look forward to seeing you in September. Richard Vine Director of Sailing
