My wife and visited the museum on a recent trip. It was both informative about the Tsunami that devastated this region and dour, with traffic images of what occurred. Given how far from the beach it is, it is also incredible where the patrol boat...More

This was a moving visit to the museum. The videos of rescuers, survivors & witnesses to this tragic event was gut wrenching. They have the videos in different languages, English, German & I think French? which is a great idea. Definitely worth a visit if...More

The museum really brings down to earth the realities of the 2004 tsunami. The videos especially are very well done. Well worth watching for at least 30 minutes.

The attendant was very helpful. The photo albums covering the Tsunami needed updating. The memorial nearby, whilst an impressive structure, was sadly neglected. We were very disappointed that local or government officials had allowed it to lapse into disrepair.

Before going to Khao Lak l looked at the local map and noticed a Tsunami Museum on the main road. We found it easily. A rather run down small 3 story building. Entry by 'donation' of 200baht each, which (hopefully) goes to the local village...More

Gives a very complex idea of why and how the tsunami caused so much damage. The place was not easy to find despite being on the main road, there are some new buildings since we last visited. If in the area it is a lesson...More
