What a great week. I am a PADI instructor and was traveling alone. I had concerns about being buddied up with inexperienced divers, but the crew onboard did a really good job of organizing groups based not just on experience but also air consumption. Briefings were handled well and in multiple languages. Can't say enough about how well the crew handled everything on a daily basis. My guides were Pato and Fernando and both were wonderful, pointing out tiny stuff for the photographers (me) as well as larger fish & critters for the non macro enthusiasts. Plenty of time in between dives & meals to relax without feeling rushed. Good attention to safety (a major concern with the recent industry issues). Decent sized cabins with stable storage, firm but spacious bunks, and surprisingly luxe-feeling linens. I was initially a little concerned about shared bathrooms but it was not an issue and everything throughout the boat was kept very clean by the crew. Victor was a big help with any questions and was kind enough to change my computer battery. As a former liveaboard crew member myself, I really was very pleased with the overall experience and high level of attentiveness. I would not hesitate to recommend the boat to certified divers of any experience level. You will enjoy your experience in the hands of the very capable Oktavia crew for sure. Also a big thank you to Dom who was very helpful and friendly!

From the get-go a friendly lad; Dom handled my enquires thoughtfully and prompt. The process of booking this trip was a breeze. Victor and the rest of the pleasant crew are very professional and accommodating. The boat may look spartan but it is clean, homely and I had a restful night sleeping in the cabin. Food is awesome! Almost everyone had a second serving. Safety is paramount when it comes to diving. Briefings are conducted meticulously and the guides are well-exprience and knowledgeable. It's a shame that I've only spend 2 days with them and eventhough i had to part ways with the group, Dom ensures that my transfer back to mainland went smoothly. He even picked me up at the pier and dropped me back to my hotel. Without a doubt if any of you decides to dive in the similan, make Oktavia your choice of LOB. Cheers!

Awesome visit. This was our first live aboard and it was so amazing. All the staff, beginning from Dan who took care of our transport and all the way through the crew of the boat and dive masters (thanks Vanesa!!) were so professional and accommodating. The dive sites and views were remarkable. We were the rare few that even saw a whale shark! The food was excellent the boat was so clean and even the showers/bathrooms were in great condition. We can't say enough about this place. It was great to meet the owner Jesper who was great and felt like one of the crowd from the get go. All in all, Oktavia made our honeymoon as spectacular as can be. Also, if you're reading this Oktavia, what are the names of those dangerous cookies!!! Thank you so much guys. We will be back!

Hi Thank you for such a wonderful review, we're really pleased that you had such a great time and we could add to your whole Honeymoon experience. Also very well done spotting the Whaleshark at Elephant Head Rock - not a common encounter at that particular dive site! We were really happy to have you both on-board to discover our magical playground. Many thanks again for joining us and we sincerely hope to see you again sometime in the future. P.S. I did a quick google search for 'Pineapple Cookie Thailand', and there's quite a few links where you get hold of them on-line - be careful though, you know how addictive they are! ;-)

I just finished 3D/2N to Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon and Koh Tachai and had a great time. The other guests also seemed to be enjoying themselves. I travel worldwide to dive and certainly enjoyed my time on Oktavia. Crew: extremely friendly, helpful, always seemed to be in a good mood. It was very well run, tanks were always filled (unlike on other more expensive liveaboards I’ve been on), fins put back in boxes, always a helping hand being offered, delicious food served, and smiling faces. DM: my DM was Hiep— super nice, patient and experienced guide. Great guiding— he found small nudibranches and spotted eagle rays and sharks, helped us evade the green monster, and always put safety first. Accommodations: clean and efficient. What else do you need? You’re there to dive, not to hang out in your room :) There is a large spacious area to eat and socialize that’s covered (and has rain curtains— I don’t know what they’re actually called), a sun deck that is partially covered, which is nice so you can still sit on top and look at the view without sizzling in the sun, and there’s a nice organized dive deck area. There’s plenty of room on this boat and even though we weren’t full, I think it would still feel pretty spacious even at max capacity. Food: I loved the food. They had delicious asian food as well as chicken nuggets, sandwich fixings, and French fries so you got a variety. The fruit was always fresh and delicious (pineapple, watermelon, bananas and tangerines. Food had both meat and veggie options and seemed pretty healthy. While Oktavia isn’t considered a “luxury” liveaboard, doing 3-4 dives a day, this was all I needed. I’m not really sure what else anyone needs from a liveaboard if you plan on doing all or most of your dives since that’s what we’re there for. For the price, this was a great buy. Transport to and from hotel in Khao Lak/liveaboard was well organized and ran smoothly. Honestly, everything ran smoothly, from the briefings to the dives to the food to the loading and unloading, etc. Everyone was friendly, professional and I had a great time.

First off, I don't dive. I snorkel and swim like a fish, and therefore, like looking at fish. After spending 5 days on the Oktavia, I'm hooked and ready to secure my PADI. Everything on this boat, from the staff to the accommodations were on point. The food was delicious, beer and soda for a reasonable price, snacks in the afternoon, we shuttled our way to quiet parts of the island while discovering private reefs and oodles of fish. The entire crew was convivial and professional. The boat is expansive with large areas to stretch out for a snooze, or ride on top where you get a perfect view of dolphins leaping in the surf or at night to star gaze. Each place we snorkeled was fairly clear with an array of amazing fish. I even spied a little octopus who changed colors as he/she moved from rock to rock. Because I'm on top of the water, I don't see what the divers do, but on one trip Vicktor pointed out a beautiful pair of cuttlefish and my trip was made. High praise for the entire staff from start to finish. I will return, but as a diver.
