I can honestly say that our safari through Earthlife exceeded our expectations, and was a memorable, amazing adventure from start to finish. The itinerary was excellent with a great mix of activities (game walks, night drives etc) and arrangements all efficiently made and explained by Angel and David. We were somewhat cautious about joining the safari jeep throngs on the northern circuit, but our trip was made special by our amazing guide, Joseph, who we are convinced is the best in the biz. He spotted things with his naked eye while driving that we had trouble finding with binocs and his sixth sense helped us get positioned ahead of the crowds for some amazing sightings and close encounters. He was fantastic at spotting and identifying birds, attentive to all our needs, made the best coffee, and was by far the best looking and best dressed guide out there...we were the envy of every other tour group! We felt privileged to have him, and much richer from the knowledge and experiences he shared with us. He made each long day much easier by facilitating all arrangements with the various camps and the rest of the Earthlife team. Thanks to all for a memorable experience. We highly recommend this company.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this company! From the first contact via email through our drop off at the airport, they were with us every step of the way! They were fantastic working through seven different itineraries with us until we found one that included everything we wanted to do/see that was within our budget. Once we decided on an itinerary, they booked the hotels and sent us a “what to expect” information sheet and we paid in 3 installments. Upon arrival, our guide was waiting for us and took us to our hotel. The accommodations and food were all top notch and better than we could’ve imagined. Our guide Abu was absolutely fantastic! He was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different animals we saw, the culture, and he was an impressively proficient driver even in wet muddy conditions. Abu could spot animals from so far away and he did a great job showing us every type of animal you could hope to see while on safari and getting us in a position to take great photos! He always had a smile on his face and was a pleasure to get to know over the course of our tour. David from the office met us on our first night to go over what to expect for the week and again on our last night to check in and see how everything had gone. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our tour and the level of service this company provided. If you’re looking to do a safari, this is the company to do it with!!

I had the incredible opportunity to embark on an adventure organized by this Company, the experience was nothing short of spectacular. From the beginning, the organization of the trip was impeccable, with every detail meticulously planned to ensure a smooth and worry-free experience.
The guide, Junior, was a real treasure. His in-depth knowledge of local wildlife and culture enriched our journey, making each day a new discovery. He was not just a guide but a storyteller who brought to life the wonders we were witnessing.
The game drive car was a joy in itself - modern, new and extremely comfortable, ensuring that every journey was full of pleasure
The quality and comfort of the vehicle was exceptional, allowing us to enjoy the sights and sounds of the savannah in style.
The national parks selected were fantastic Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti Park offered stunning landscapes and wildlife encounters that will be etched in the memory forever.

A group of eight of us used Eartlife Expeditions for a 9 day safari. We all had a fantastic time! I started the planning process in 2019 with Caudence. Caudence never missed an email, responded promptly and was always professional and helpful with my questions. Caudence was extremely efficient. When covid hit in 2020 we had to postpone our trip. Naturally this was nerve racking, for we had already made deposits and we had no idea about the solvency of Earthlife or the conditions in Africa would be. Caudence rebooked everything for us, stayed in close contact and reassured us everything would work out. Earthlife was also very flexible which we appreciated very much. We finally made it to Tanzania in November 2021 and without any hiccups had a wonderful time touring the Serengeti! Everything from good value to the logistics, wildlife, food and lodging worked out perfectly. We especially enjoyed the lodges Earthlife recommended, particularly our time in the glamping tents. Our guides Richard and Paul were so friendly and personable, safe and really went the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of and got to experience the things we wanted to see, plus more, much more. The Serengeti is truly magical and we were always amazed how our guides spotted wildlife from so far away. A very memorable trip, Thank you Earthlife Expeditions!

I thank the whole team for organizing our trip, which could not have gone better.
For a week we toured Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara, Serengeti National Park (North and Central) and Ngorongoro Crater, a Maasai village and a local village. We get to see the Big Five and many other animals and fabulous landscapes always with our guide Jeff Millinga.
Jeff is an incredible person, with a vast knowledge, always willing to help, who loves his work and who did everything to provide us with an unforgettable week and fantastic photos.
The accommodations were all good but the tent accommodation is a unique experience that surpassed our expectations.

My wife & I just returned from the most amazing bucket list trip ever! Our introduction to Earthlife Expeditions was reading about them in Fodor’s guide to African Safaris. Earthlife was exactly the kind of company we were looking for. They are smaller & locally based. Their nimble operation promoted real value for the investment. Every source I checked set this one premise for a successful safari… your guide is key. The founder of Earthlife is a former guide himself.
I like the process that Earthlife maintains for the customer. Angel, our local office agent in Arusha Tanzania, walked us through the planning process. This one aspect alone cut the expense of a USA agent & placed a local with hands-on knowledge on our side.
Angel grasped that we were budget-minded, but wanted personal attention (private vehicle) & comfortable lodging. I had read of several guides from their company that had impressed other reviewers. We were really hoping that Joseph might be available. This pairing alone was hands-down the best decision we made. Joseph is Masai; knowledgeable, funny & personable. His greatest gift was his tireless efforts to find the best animal experiences for us. Joseph really delivered. As an example, during our 5 days in the Serengeti, Joseph led us to see 110 lions (breaking his own record).
We threw a number of curves at Earthlife. Our research led us to a unique itinerary… no problem for Angel. We made a lodging shift & she handled that, too. And finally, a personal health issue caused us to cancel at the last minute, only to rebook for 2 weeks later. Remarkably, Angel scurried to put all the pieces back in place. She was amazing!
Earthlife doesn’t do things in an American way; they are Tanzanian and know how Africa works. It’s unsettling to send a deposit to people we have never met. Earthlife proved to be trustworthy & transparent with every step of our safari process. We even texted Angel with questions during our travel days in Tarangire, Central & Northern Serengeti & Ruaha. We can’t say enough positive things about the planning, guide, vehicle, lodging & vendors employed in the process of giving us the greatest safari ever.

The suggestion for the Safari route, for the number of days we had planned, was made by Miguel Bruno, who adjusted the program according to our requests and was very quick to respond/give feedback based on his experience and what do you know.
During the 4-day Safari, our guide was Paul, always very polite and careful throughout the entire route.
We had the opportunity to see the wildebeests crossing the river, after practically 5 hours of waiting, which was without a doubt one of the most memorable moments of our Safari.
Paul was very patient, even when other guides thought about giving up and chose the best place for us to watch the moment, which passed right in front of where we were.
We only missed seeing the big 5 rhino, otherwise we saw lots of animals, several that we had never seen before.
The first night we stayed at Manyara Secret, unfortunately we arrived after the sun had set and we weren't able to really enjoy the space, which was really beautiful.
The only suggestion we can give at this point is that you try to do the visa online beforehand, because we spent practically an hour at the airport between queues and it was quite disorganized.
In the camps where we stayed (Kontiki and Acacia) the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful, for the most part. The rooms were quite comfortable and large.
In Zanzibar we chose a hotel that was not in the initial options (Gold), but which we recommended and which exceeded our expectations.
During the 4-day Safari, our guide was Paul, always very polite and careful throughout the entire route.

Quanto a tua sugestão eu explico. Já houve quem tivesse feito o visto on-line e depois à chegada os serviços de fronteira não tivessem encontrado obrigando os clientes a ter que fazer novamente. Ou seja pagar duas vezes e em dobro. Pode ser que o sistema tenha melhorado e por isso vamos seguir a tua sugestão e passar a recomendar o visto on-line como primeira opção.

My wife and I chose Earthlife Expeditions to help us organize our honeymoon, which was without a doubt an unforgettable experience. I would like to mention three aspects that in our opinion made all the difference:
1. Organization ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Miguel Almeida Bruno and his team demonstrated exceptional professionalism and availability in organizing our trip from the beginning (months before the trip). From the first contact, we were immediately assured that we were in the right hands. The entire itinerary and stages of the trip were carefully planned and adapted to meet our desires and budget. Their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring our honeymoon went as we wanted was definitely noticed. Miguel was always available to answer all our questions and concerns (even early in the morning), which gave us total security throughout the trip.
2. Safari ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our trip to Tanzania included visits to some of the best wildlife parks in the world. We started our safari at Ngorongoro Crater, where there is a huge concentration of animals in their natural environment. Then we headed to Central Serengeti, where we got to see the Big 5, as well as cheetahs and leopards. We were also lucky that our jeep was surrounded by lions and lionesses, where it was possible for us to be less than 1 meter away from these big cats. In the last two days of the safari we went to North Serengeti to see the exciting crossing of the Mara River by the great migration of thousands of wildebeests and, to finish off on a high note, we took a hot air balloon ride which was undoubtedly one of the highlights and unforgettable moments of the safari, where we were able to have a complete view of the immensity of the Serengeti and the various animals that live there.
3. Hosting ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
During our honeymoon we stayed in some of the most amazing hotels/camps we have ever seen. Manyara Secret, Serengeti Sound of Silence and Acacia Migration Camp offered a perfect combination of comfort, luxury and closeness to nature and animals. The locations were chosen with great care, providing a unique experience of immersion in nature. It's impressive to hear the sound of the jungle and animals (lions and hyenas) inside the tents in the middle of the night.

We did all our planning for our 6-day safari with Earthlife via email with Caudence. She always replied within 24 hours and was very accommodating and planned a great private safari for our honeymoon. Our pickup from the airport was seamless. Aggrey was our guide and we loved getting to know him over our 6-day trip. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and helped us check everything off of our list (lion cubs, rhinos, leopard, and more!).
The lodgings were all very clean with great food and service. We spent time in Ndutu at Ndutu bush camp during calving season at the end of February (although missed the actual calving by a week). Ndutu felt less developed and wilder than the Serengeti which was awesome. We loved ending our trip with a stay at Marera Valley Lodge which had awesome views. Osinon camp in Serengeti had a lot of flies surrounding the camp but the tents were the nicest we stayed in.
A few tips: if you pay in cash make sure your USD are minted after 2006 or they wont be accepted. Arusha is a bit touristy with not much to do, I'd recommended staying closer to the parks.
The lodgings were all very clean with great food and service. We spent time in Ndutu at Ndutu bush camp during calving season at the end of February (although missed the actual calving by a week). Ndutu felt less developed and wilder than the Serengeti which was awesome. We loved ending our trip with a stay at Marera Valley Lodge which had awesome views. Osinon camp in Serengeti had a lot of flies surrounding the camp but the tents were the nicest we stayed in.
A few tips: if you pay in cash make sure your USD are minted after 2006 or they wont be accepted. Arusha is a bit touristy with not much to do, I'd recommended staying closer to the parks.

Angel at Earthlife Expeditions tailored an 18-day private tour for our family of nine, ages 10 through 75. All the details, from the airport pickup at 2:00 am to visits with the Maasai, Hadzabe and Datogo tribes to game drives to accommodations to meals were perfect.
Of course, the most important were the two excellent, professional safari guides, Herman and Sam. They knew the terrain like the back of their hands, spotted amazing animals, and always lined their vehicles up to the best location for our cameras. We saw the Great Migration in northern Serengeti, the Big 5 (over 85 lions) and so much more. Herman and Sam even provided us with hot picnic lunches on many days.
This was an unforgettable trip. The service, care, and love provided by Earthlife Expeditions went beyond our expectations. The bond developed by Herman and Sam with our 10, 11, and 12 year old grandchildren was special.
As a point of interest, our payment to Earthlife Expeditions was made through bank transfer. It was a little nerve racking because it took almost two weeks for the transaction to be completed. Angel tracked the payment with the bank and emailed us a receipt as soon as she received it.

I am Earthlife Expeditions staff Osinon camp is our sister company, so I may say that I know the property really well. However, since I am attached to this company, it may seem impossible that I can give an unbiased opinion about Osinon,
However, if you go to the TripAdvisor search box and put 'Osinon Camps and Lodges', there you'll be welcomed by 9 reviews (not bad for a new property) and reading them you'll be in a better position to make a decision.

What works luggage wise? Do we need to purchase soft sided duffle bags? Soft sided roller luggage ok?

It is best to take soft sided backpacks or small suitcases as these would fit easily to the back of jeeps used by Earthlife Expeditions, however it depends on how many of you are in your party. We had 6 family members and 2 of them brought medium sized suitcases but we managed without any difficulty

Heading out on a 7 day safari with earthlife expedition at the end of the month. I am Just curious about proper tipping etiquette . Do you have the same driver everyday? Do you tip daily or at the end of the safari? What is a good tip?

Hi. We had the same driver for the whole safari. We were recommended to tip between 30-50 per day. We tipped about $50 per day. We made the tip at the end of the trip in one lump sum. We did have a few small other guides for a tour of local village (2hours or so) etc, we gave smaller tip to each as we said good bye. ($10/15 as we felt suitable).

No problems at all. I wired both the deposit and then the final payment through my brokerage firm, Fidelity. It took a bit longer to arrive in Earthlife's account than I expected. I thought that wiring the money would be almost in standouts. It took more than a week before they received it. So I got a little anxious. Deo, the owner, emailed me immediately when the money arrived. They are a scrupulously honest, ethical company.
