My wife and I went on our honeymoon in Tanzania, first an 8 day safari with Earthlife and then 5 days in Zanzibar, basically because no where else would let US citizens into their country. I chose Earthlife because it's a local operator, and one of the most reputable in the biz. I worked with Caudence on our itinerary for 2 months getting it just right. Earthlife is definitely the way to go in terms of service and quality. During the trip our guide Jeff worked to get our tickets from Zanzibar to Dar Es Salaam worked out... something that had nothing to do with Earthlife and they were only able to do because the owner had a relationship with the owner of the airline. Earthlife makes things happen. Speaking of Jeff, he was an incredible guide! He was tireless, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, positive, and funny. He was often first to the scene of awesome sights and he'd go the extra mile - one time we were headed back to camp and he heard there was a rhino on the radio and we went back like an hour just to try to see this one rhino and round out the big 5 (they're pretty rare here). You need to request Jeff. Tanzania is gorgeous and now is the time to see it. Every game park is like your personal wildlife paradise. The people are very kind and unobtrusive. They've been suffering from the Covid economy and you're going to get awesome rates and personalized service. Jeff said the number of vehicles is about 10% of normal. It's like going to disneyland some random mid week vs the saturday before Christmas. The risk of getting Covid is nil from the locals. (Obvi you need to get tested before you come to protect them). Earthlife and Jeff, remember the names!

My husband and I did Earthlife expeditions for our honeymoon and it was honestly even more than we could've dreamed of! Best experience ever. Initially we had a lot of issues with our flights as they kept getting cancelled (due to all the travel restrictions and our connecting flights etc...) and kept having to move the itinerary around because of this. Earthlife was very accommodating and helpful and guided us to the best solution each time we had to rethink how to make our honeymoon happen. We were very difficult clients due to all of this, so... big thanks to Caudence and team for helping with all the changes and putting this together! We really want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to our incredible safari guide, Herman, who was really a joy to spend 7 days with. With all of his knowledge on the animals and areas we learned so much. He is calm and laid back and did everything to make us comfortable and happy on our special trip. He really is an expert in the field! Found all the animals we were looking for, and managed to get really close to a lot of them as well for great pictures. Always a positive attitude, even when I had given up hope and thought we wouldn't find the black rhino & leopard... we did! Lastly, regarding Covid, they took plenty of precautions and made sure we were comfortable as well (always hand santiser etc). There were also not many other tourists there (rare for this time of year) but that made for a better safari experience for us... we got all the animals, picnic areas, and lodges pretty much for our selves. If you can travel, and want a quality safari, this is the one, highly recommend. Thank you Herman for everything, you really made our trip incredible! Thank you Earthlife for making our honeymoon the best trip we have ever taken! We will be coming back soon... :D Bride & Rodrigo

We just wrapped up a 10 day safari/Zanzibar trip about a week ago and it was amazing!!! We were the first expedition heading out since the COVID pandemic took hold and I have to say that Earthlife went above and beyond to make this trip amazing!!!!! They had taken plenty of safety precautions to make sure that we felt comfortable amid the pandemic that is going on. We were able to customize and add in additional things to our safari up until a week before we arrived. I have to give a HUGE shoutout to our safari guide Daniel!!! He made our safari amazing with all of his knowledge and stories while we were driving around! He literally had an answer to every question we asked him. He was also an expert in spotting the animals and knew all of their territories very well! He never gave up hope on finding even some of the rarest animals. We got to see all the BIG 5 including the rhino which is extremely difficult given the scarcity of their numbers. This trip was everything we could have asked for and more!!! Being that this is usually primetime safari season the amount of people traveling is very low because of COVID, but this worked to our advantage because we didn't have to battle a ton of other jeeps to get close to the animals. We were literally the almost the only people staying in camps and visiting the parks. I would say if you are on the fence about going during COVID and don't have any serious health issues I would go for it. You will literally get an almost private safari tour of the parks because tourism is down everywhere right now. Lastly, again I would just like to thank the Earthlife Staff and Daniel for making our safari a once in a lifetime experience. I definitely am looking forward to going on safari again!!!

We have travelled twice with Earthlife Expeditions: in August 2018 to experience the great migration and in February 2020 to see wildebeest calving. Both trips have exceeded our expectations. All planning went very smoothly with the help of Caudence Ayoti. Our own ideas and wishes of the route and accommodation were well complemented and all correspondence was quick and prompt. We were fortunate to have Herman Kiriama as our guide on both trips. He is very professional and knowledgeable and thanks to his excellent local knowledge we were often in the right place at the right time to see amazing wildlife. But not only is Herman a brilliant guide and a safe driver, he has a good sense of humour and great respect for wildlife. You really can’t expect to have a better wildlife guide! We can strongly recommend Earthlife Expeditions and will certainly travel with them again!

Hello from Canada, We just came back in Feb 2020 from our first trip to Africa: Uganda (15 nights), Tanzania (8 nights) and Zanzibar (11 nights). It was just outstanding. We really enjoyed the 2 boat Safaris in Uganda, trekking chimpanzees and gorillas also in Uganda and the outstanding safari in Tanzania. Tanzania had obviously much much more wildlife but both countries were both brilliant. We will cherish FOREVER our first 2 safaris. We don’t think we will ever have a better trip in the future! I just want to start by explaining how I created our trip to Uganda & Tanzania. I read Lonely Planet Uganda and Lonely Planet Tanzania. I made the itinerary myself and found 2 small companies I read about in Lonely Planet. I can tell you our trip with Earthlife was flawless. We had the choice between: budget, mid-luxury or luxury. We selected mid-luxury and we had all our meal included. Creating our own itinerary went very smoothly and was painless. Angel, a worker for Earthlife, was quick to reply to all my questions and was a delight to work with. Buying directly from a company in Tanzania made us save thousands of dollars over buying from a travel agent in Canada or a specialized safari company in Canada. If I would do it again, I would spend longer on our safari in Tanzania and only 7 nights in Zanzibar. The moment we met our driver/guide, Jeff, we loved him. He was personable, funny, full of stories and easy to be around. During a safari, you get to know your driver as you are with him up to 12-hour per day. He astonished us with his PASSION. Jeff acted as it was his first safari (but he has been doing Safaris for 10 years) by having relentless curiosity, energy and passion. I should not forget to mention Jeff is an excellent driver as some of the road conditions were questionable (very muddy and/or no roads in the middle of “nowhere”). On a few occasions, we did not think we could get unstuck! But Jeff used his unbelievable skills to get us out. Believe me, we were not the only one stuck as we were in the middle of the wild Serengeti. We never imagined we would see SO MUCH wildlife and be SO CLOSE to the animals. Our experience with Jeff (who represent Earthlife) was beyond perfect, magical & overwhelming. Our accommodations were UNBELIEVABLE, the food was great and I just wish we could have stayed extra nights. Earthlife is extremely lucky to have Jeff as one of their drivers. Personally, if we go back to Tanzania, Jeff will definitely be our driver. We love him like a son. Way to go Earthlife to have great employees like Jeff & Angel. Thank you Jeff John, Angel & Earthlife for delivering our best trip ever! The Beckers 😎
