There are about 200 Safari companies in Arusha, so tough choice! My wife and I found Greg Adventures by accident because we stayed at his hotel and found out he also does Safaris. In the end, you can be lucky or unlucky with seeing certain animals, but its the people we were with that makes us highly recommend this company: Greg is the owner and brain of the whole thing and I think he has a good business mindset. He will be able to adjust the experience to your needs and will get things done. We had a nice talk in the evening before our safari, told him what was important to us and agreed on a budget. We looked for something on the cheaper end that focuses on learning about animals rather than comfort. Greg found an arrangement for us. He also has very good contacts to drivers and local guides. Suleyman was our guide on our first day to Arusha National Park and man was he a treasure. He not only knows every plant and animal in Tansania but also has an amazing didactic approach. I would give us riddles (is the Zebra black with white or white with black?) to make us think about their nature and behaviour on the different animals. If you are looking to learn something about African wildlife and you are lucky enough to drive with this academic guide you are in for a treat, this man is highly overqualified for the job! Harry (Babu) was our driver and guide for the next six days and besides his good humour, we liked his strategic mindset. Maybe sometimes it was luck but this experienced driver is always paying attention what is happening in the parks and then just manages to be at the right time at the right place. Not only did we see all of the big five (even a Rhino) but Harry's quick judgement also saved three Cheetah cubs from a Hyena as he chased it through the Savannah with our Jeep! Baba Tau was the chef on our safari who held the whole thing together. Always smiling and up for a joke, there is nothing better to come back to a delicious dinner after a whole day in the parks! Yussef was our local guide at Lake Eyasi. He grew up with one of the local tribes and is fluent in many tribal languages besides Swahili and English. He took us to his childhood friends from neighbouring villages who showed us how to do metalwork in makeshift furnaces or took us on an early morning hunt with bow and arrow. Finally there is Lucy, the housekeeper and chef at Greg's hotel. She is always in a good mood, makes delicious pumpkin soup and made us feel at home when we came back after seven days in the bush! Take care guys and hopefully see you soon, Nils & Nataliia

Out of many adventures I've had I have to admit that Safari with Greg Adventures was one of the most professional and most memorable experiences I've ever done. We choose private 5 days safari + 2 days with Hadzabi tribe. During safari we had two different guides, more than 18 years of experience each. They were literally amazing!!! Knowledgeable, funny but also not to pushy to leave us enough of private space. Our cook prepared an amazing food. Guides knew really well where and when to go to avoid big crowds and see all of the amazing things in the same time. We saw whole big 5, leopards and lions fighting with hyaena for a pray and of course famous great migration. At the end we had another amazing adventure which was living two days with Hadzabi tribe. It was not only unbelievably amazing and authentic experience but also best price to compare to many other agencies I checked. Last but not least Greg is just a great guy who can always help you with a good advice. Highly recommended to everyone!

Greg went above and beyond to make our experience as personal as possible. He advised us on how many days we should spend in each park and we are so glad we took his advice as our experience in Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro was incredible. Our guide was knowledgeable and so kind and the chef cooked us up something different and delicious every night. Not to mention we asked for an authentic Hadzabe tribe experience and Greg pulled out all the stops to make it happen. The whole experience felt like a once in a lifetime moment. All in all we are delighted with the professionalism and welcoming atmosphere Greg offers. If you want to do a safari right I can’t recommend Greg adventures enough.
