I am a solo traveler who likes to have his freedom and flexibility in visiting places, and have his own tempo of where and when to go. I am also not a big fan of group tours (things like group Safaries). If you are not lucky, having a bad company can ruin the whole experience.
All this means, extra cost, and extra effort to organize the trip. I was lucky to find Kiliholidays. I had to negotiate with different companies to customize the trip exactly the way I wanted, without paying too much extra. Kiliholidays offered the best price, and Mack, the owner, was almost 24/7 available on WhatsApp to answer my questions, despite the 7 hours time difference between Tanzania and Montreal (my city). He carefully listened to my plan and organized a 4-day trip that optimally stuffed everything I wanted into one package: peaceful and beautiful lodges, doing Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Tarangire, and a hot air balloon. Thank you Mack!
I had to spend a lot of hours finding the right company, and finding Kiliholidays perhaps by far is the most rewarding effort I put in reading reviews, comparing plans, and negotiations.
The trip, specially the visit to "Cradle Humankind", was truly a transformative experience. Despite a last-minute change of plan to go to the Olduvai museum, Mack and my driver, Edward, managed to do all the paperwork on time and made it happen.
I specially owe a big part of this amazing experience I had to Edward, the guide. He was a very knowledgable, charming character, very experienced in navigating the locations, with eagle-like eyes to spot animals.
Before the trip, I told him I am here mostly for peace and silence, and his observer personality knew exactly where to give it to me, and when to chat, without me having to ask him. This was really invaluable to me. Thank you, Edward! For being the right companion and the right guide!
