How do we start describing the awsome experience offered by the Hoopoe Safari team? It started with the delightful emails from Beatrice who is extremely responsive, not only to produce a quotation, but also to answer concerns and questions, to adapt the itinerary to our smallest requests and to make us comfortable with the upcoming safari.
Then our great guide and driver Lesikar welcomed us at Arusha airport and took care of us through a 7-day safari in Tarangire, Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Always attentive and adaptable to our requirements, knowledgeable and interesting, and a great and careful driver.
Overall, an outstanding sense of service in a friendly and professional way.
Then our great guide and driver Lesikar welcomed us at Arusha airport and took care of us through a 7-day safari in Tarangire, Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Always attentive and adaptable to our requirements, knowledgeable and interesting, and a great and careful driver.

Our safari outfitter hired Hoopoe Safari to lead our family on our 7 day Machame route climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro. From our very first pre trip meeting at our Arusha hotel to our final goodbyes, we were overwhelmed with the professionalism and support of our team. Our family of 5 with kids ages 20, 17, and 13 felt so at ease and confident about a successful summit after meeting Charles our lead guide. Charles had summited over 300 times prior to our family! Our bush and beach safari was arranged by Beatrice who put together a great itinerary and then planned all of the logistics, taking into account all of the extras bits we requested. Beatrice was efficient, polite and faultless which removed any anxiety we may have had. She even met us in Arusha to welcome us and go through the plan one last time, which was a nice touch.
Our guide was Albert and he was excellent throughout our safari. Albert was a very knowledgeable guide who also seemed to have a genuine interest in, and respect for, the wildlife. Albert had extensive knowledge of both birds and animals, shared lots of information and answered any questions we had along the way. We always felt safe when he was driving us from place to place and the safari vehicle was more than up to the task.
Hoopoe Safaris did us proud and we were left with some fantastic memories of our time in Tanzania.

Hoopoe Safaris provided outstanding service while we were in the East African Wilderness. Jackson, our guide for our safari in the Serengeti, Olduvai Gorge and Ngorongoro, was outstanding! He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The amount of wildlife we saw was amazing. Jackson knew exactly where to go. He was friendly and relaxed the entire time. Thank you Jackson, we had an awesome time!

Albert was our tour guide. He was very friendly and informative. He knew a lot about all the birds we saw. The lunch provided was VERY nice for a box lunch. The truck was a little old and could use some upgrades, but other than that, this was a great day!

We went for 9 days and ended up extending it for another 2 nights because there was just so much to see and we loved Hoopoe's service.
We loved the flexibility Hoopoe had when we were planning our trip and were very accomodating. The lodges were we stayer were all wonderful. They were quick in resolving any issues we had during our trip and were accessible via whatsapp to answer questions/concerns. Our car and guide were great. He was experienced and detailed in explaining animals, landscape, etc to us. He also had guide books to show us the animals and even a phone app for us to listen to the birds' we were encountering. They gave us a nice map at the beginning of our trip for each of the parks we were going to.
This agency was the ONLY one that I got a quote from that actually had us stay in the Ngorongoro rim (at Sopa) and that extra price was VERY worth it. Driving to Karatu and back each day to descent to the crater would've been a waste of time.

This is THE BEST guided trip, ever!
My husband and I cannot say enough about our recent (successful!) Kilamanjaro hike with Hoopoe. Every single detail was taken care of for us. The absolutely amazing guides, porters, camp crew and cook- we ate like kings and queens in the most beautiful surroundings! Our tent was extremely durable, very warm and we enjoyed very comfortable mattress pads and sleeping bags. We were greeted each morning with a smile and steaming hot chocolate at every wake up call! The energy from the entire group along our journey was contagious. You could feel the enthusiasm and happiness of the entire “A-Team” from start to finish. We simply cannot say enough how great of an experience this was. A lifelong memory fulfilled, and people we will never forget.
Don’t think twice about booking them for your Kilamanjaro experience! Best decision we made when booking our trip to Tanzania!

Our UK tour company utilized Hoopoe Safaris as their ground operations in the Arusha & Lake Manyara area. We could be not more pleased with our driver Aron who took great care of us for our three days. We toured Tarangire National Park and Aaron tried very hard to show us the best experience. He navigated the PCR testing and the flight from Lake Manyara easily. Our family enjoyed meeting Aron and were very happy with Hoopoe safaris.

Great service from Hoopoe! We had the chance to have Clémence as Guide/driver and he was super!
Driving was safe, knowledge was beyond expectation, always looking for animals that we might have missed !!
Also Dionis from central office was clearly ahead of the ball (responsive, helpful) and made our trip wonderful!
I mostly recommend them to anyone!

I can't say enough about how wonderful and well organized our safari trip with Hoopoe was. We chose the "Serengeti Will Never Die" trip as it offered us 10 full days on safari. Our driver, Albert Fundi, was a wealth of information about a great variety of topics, from animal behavior to geography, history and tribal customs. He's also an incredibly personable and funny guy, and we bonded with him deeply over our time together. Hoopoe's attention to every detail of the trip made it proceed smoothly in every way. Every lodge was wonderful and the staff at each were very attentive. I am already planning my next trip with them, and would highly recommend them to anyone contemplating a safari - or other trip - to Tanzania. Thanks again, Hoopoe!

My family is booked for a week long Hoopoe Tanzania safari in January 2018. Any packing recommendations would be greatly appreciated. What should we bring? What should we leave home? Thanks!

We followed the packing list they provided, and it was right on - neither too much, nor too little. So I would follow their advice!
