Arusha National Park Day Tour

Located just 45 minutes drive from Arusha, Arusha National Park is Tanzania's most accessible park in more ways than one. It's not only conveniently located, but it's also the best place to embark on walking and canoeing safaris - putting you closer to the action than anywhere else in the country!

While Arusha National Park has no large predators, it is home to Africa's largest giraffe population, a variety of primate species, and a number of large herbivores.

It's the perfect day out for a family or those wanting something different to the standard game drive experience.

Lake Manyara National Park Day Tour

A day trip to Lake Manyara National Park is an exciting chance to get a feel for the real Africa. Lake Manyara is an unspoiled paradise of groundwater forests fed by underground springs and teeming with wildlife.

One of Africa's premier birding destinations, it's also a fantastic place to see Africa's most iconic animals from massive elephants and cape buffalo to the famous tree-climbing lions who call the park home.

Lake Manyara also offers visitors the chance to take to the water for a canoe safari, which is a unique way to see hippos, elephants, and buffalo up close.

Tarangire National Park Day Tour

Tarangire is the least visited of the parks along Tanzania's northern circuit, and it's a crying shame. The park's large elephant population, iconic Baobab trees, and diversity of wildlife make it one of the best parks in the country for taking breathtaking photos or simply basking in the beauty of the world's largest land mammals.

Game drives through Tarangire are particularly thrilling during the dry season when the animals of the park must cluster closer and closer to the Tarangire River. This offers a great opportunity to see plenty of animals in one place and to witness the predator-prey relationship in action.

Ngorongoro Crater Day Trip

The trip from Arusha to Ngorongoro is a long one, but you'll be grateful for the early start and late finish as you're taking in the conservation area's stunning views and diverse wildlife.

You'll enjoy a half day game drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area: the best place in the northern circuit to see the enigmatic black rhinoceros. Within the park you'll also spot roaming prides of lions, large packs of hyenas, wallowing hippopotamus, great herds of wildebeest, stoic cape buffalo, brightly coloured flamingoes, and more. Ngorongoro truly is one of the most spectacular safari experiences out there!

The journey has started with a very kind and helpful agent Marjeta. She has organized our safari trip and was super understanding when our flight was rescheduled and available for all the questions i had. Also the lodges where she made reservations for our overnight stays were incredible. When we landed at the Kilimanjaro airport things got real. Our guide was Sule - and we couldn’t get a better one! He has really tried to make our Africa experience unforgettable - and he succeeded! We could see that he is doing his job with a pleasure, he was explaining us everything with excitement and giving us answers to all of our questions. Every day we had a fresh lunch in a park, he has also made us coffee afterwards and was really making an effort for us to enjoy our holidays. The nature, people, animals and the whole Tanzania is just amazing - we highly recommend you to visit this beautiful country and take a safari tour with Sule and Shadows of Africa. Karibu! Sabina and Zdravko

We researched and decided to make a last-minute safari trip to Tanzania after reading about the COVID restriction. We contacted numerous safari tour operators, and Shadows of Africa immediately stood out with their quick response and budget-friendly options. Our main point of contact before arriving in Tanzania was Lies. Lies was very quick to respond through Whatsapp and helped cater the trip to our preferences. Typically planning a safari takes months in advance, but Lies got everything set up in the span of 2-3 days! We literally finalized the trip and paid our final bill on the same day we flew to Tanzania (a 24-hour flight). We were crossing our fingers and hoping everything would go well the moment we arrived at the airport since there was no way to contact while we were in the air. We finally arrived at Kilimanjaro airport, showed our COVID results, paid for Visa, picked up our luggage, and then headed out to the arrival lobby. Charles, our safari specialist, was holding up a sign with our names. Once we went to him, we were immediately greeted and brought to our epic safari truck. He helped us load the luggage, provided us with masks, gave us hand sanitizer, and wiped down the car's seats and door handles. We were exhausted from the trip, but little did we know that we were about to embark on the safari experience of a lifetime. Our itinerary was as follows: Arusha, Tarangire, Masai Village, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. We are not going to go into the details of each day of our trip. But having Charles as our guide in Tanzania made the experience that much more memorable and unique. We have never met a guide who is more knowledgeable, hard-working, and has a passion for wildlife like Charles. The way he drove us around each park and showcased each animal to us was terrific. We had a goal of seeing the big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and African buffalo) and Charles went above and beyond and made sure we saw each animal. Charles even drove 100 kilometers deep into Serengeti just to show us cheetahs. Charles was so dedicated to making sure we saw all the wildlife, and we were so happy. You know you have a great Safari tour guide when all the tour guides on the road are asking Charles for guidance on where to spot the animals. Charles can spot wildlife many miles away without binoculars, and we were always amazed. Charles's positive attitude is infectious and puts a smile on your face. He was social and friendly and conversed with us on the long drives. Each day was an exciting new experience and allowed us to see so many of Tanzania wildlife. On our first day in the Serengeti, we were heading back to the camp after an exciting day time game drive. But we got lost because the original camp closed down due to no tourism. What should have been a scary experience, because it got pitch dark in the Serengeti turned into one of the most exciting adventures on the trip. We experienced a nighttime game drive, and Charles was pointing out all the animals as we were driving at night. I wished we would get lost every night! Overall, we have ZERO complaints about the trip. We had such a fantastic experience. The parks were so empty because of COVID, so we really felt like we were the only ones and could see all the animals without interruption. Lies professionally handled our booking, and Charles expertly guided us throughout Tanzania. If you decide to do a Safari, we wholeheartedly recommend Shadows of Africa and ask for Charles!

We have arranged our four day trip in Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and Kilimanjaro national parks in January. Our guide/driver Edwin was very friendly and informative. We were really fascinated by the fact that he was able to answer all our questions about Tanzania and wildlife. Food on the picnic places was tasty and very well organized. We ate proper pre-prepared lunches and not the food from lunch boxes. A car (safari Land Cruiser) was perfectly clean every morning before we started the trip. Accommodations were in our case reasonably priced, but nevertheless clean and comfy. We arrived at ZNZ airport without baggage. When we contacted Shadows of Africa office, they were friendly and willing to help us with tracking and possibilities to deliver us the baggage. Thanks to the team and Edwin for a fantastic and unforgettable experience! :) We would highly recommend Shadows Of Africa to other tourists travelling to Tanzania after the current health crisis.
