Visited the Engaruka area and spent the night in the campground. It was an experience like I've never had before. The people in the village were extremely nice and very helpful. The site was quite interesting and Our tour was informative. It's really kind of hard to explain.

For visiting real Tanzania and Masaipeople, a travel to Engaruka is recommended. The village shows how people lives. The ruins are worth visiting because of the pretty setting. Guiding by a Masai provides a different view on western way of life.

We met Frank in couch surfing , he is a real Masai . He took us to his village, 5 hours away from Arusha, without counting the 2 hours stop at Tombo, great experience . We were lucky enough. To see a ceremony that happens every 7 years.

I visited this place together with my classments of Embarway Secondary school in 2003. It is good for learning and see historical events which were discovered at this place.
I saw home steads made by stones, caves as well remains of tools which were used many years ago in collection of food.
I recomend people to visit this place for the aim of learning and tour.
