Ours was an eight day, customized, private photographic safari. Our route included lake Natron, North and Central Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and the Tarangire national Park.
Salim was very responsive and helpful in organizing our changing itinerary while respecting our budget.
I cannot speak highly enough of our driver Ali who worked tirelessly to get us to the best locations and photographic opportunities where the action was happening. His sharp eyes were quick to spot predators and other animals and birds of interest- often where we saw none. Ali’s fifteen years of experience as a safari driver and his extensive knowledge of animal and bird behavior was a big plus.
He was an excellent driver and was well aware of what it takes to get great shots. In North Serengeti we were following the the Great Migration and he managed to get us front row seats to two exciting Wildebeest river crossings.
We had many 5am starts as I wanted make the most our time and it helped that Ali made incredible coffee, often serviced with our fancy picnic lunches.
We also visited Lake Natron to photograph some of the 2.5 million flamingos that migrate there to breed in the month we were there.
Our accommodations along the way were good, especially the tented camps with their excellent food and impeccable service.
All in all, it was an unforgettable experience!

In September 2023 we went on a 4-day safari (3 nights) through the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangiri parks with Zamunda Safari Tours. We booked the tour, including the domestic flights from Zanzibar to Tanzania and back, online from Zanzibar at very short notice. Salim immediately organized the flights, airport transfer, guide, cook and accommodation and we didn't have to worry about anything else. At first we were a little unsure whether everything was above board, as several things were unusual for European conditions. All of the flight tickets were issued with significant spelling mistakes in the names of the travelers, arrival at the airport was tight and the costs were slightly higher than stated on the website due to an adjustment by the airline. However, our uncertainty was absolutely unfounded, as the domestic flights are handled super easily and efficiently and deviations from the passport do not play a role compared to international flights.
The whole safari was an unforgettable, wonderful experience that we were able to experience throughout in a private safari jeep. We saw pretty much all the animals that live in the parks, apart from the rhinoceros. Abouh, our guide/driver, had a good eye and a lot of background knowledge, the cook did an excellent job and the accommodation was good and practical and gave us unforgettable animal encounters at the sleeping place. We particularly enjoyed the two nights in the tent and would prefer a lodge next time. But the combination with the last night in a lodge with its own bathroom is of course very pleasant. We can highly recommend the tour and would like to thank Salim again!

We had the most amazing safari in Tanzania with Zamunda. Salim was so helpful at organising our trip and was even more helpful in helping sort our bags that were lost by the airline.
We were so incredibly lucky to have the best safari guide in the world in Godfrey, not only was his knowledge of the wild animals incredible his skill at finding them was unrivalled. But most importantly he was a lovely man and we could never thank him enough for giving us the most truly magical and amazing 5 days on safari with him. It was an experience of a lifetime and Godfrey was instrumental to that!
I could not recommend both Salim and Godfrey enough and going on safari with Zamunda is something we will never forget and is an absolute must for anyone looking to go on safari in Tanzania.
Thank you to both Godfrey and Salim! We will be recommending you to all our friends!

We booked the 4-days Safari with Zamunda with Game Drives into Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. We can only recomment visiting all three, each is unique and offers amazing highlights. The big migration of thousands of Gnus and Zebras in Serengeti, the close elephants in Tarangire and the many species close together in Ngorongoro were adventures we won't forget. Our guide was great, we spotted the big 5 and most of the ugly 5 as well. Accomodation and food were great, thanks to our chef. Also Zamunda Tours showed a high level of flexibility and supported us great when we had to change plans in short time due to Malaria. Thumbs up, we will come back!

We choose the 5five days Safari with Zamunda travel with camping family tour of 4person. Second day we share the Safari with two Japanese. Everything was great. It was the second cheapest offer on net but includes pick up at AirPort in the middle of the night, sleeping in hotel before start the Safari and first night of Safari we slept in lounge with swimming pool. Great option after long travel from Europe.
It was our second time on Safari with my husband and we appreciate the guide Asad, chief David and Osman the best. We saw everything what we wanted, Asad stopped and guide everything what we whished. After Safari Salim organise also tickets for our way to Dar el Salaam. We did not find anything what could be better to do :0)

We did a 5-day-Safari with Salim and his crew. He answered all of our questions with patience and the communication in advance was easy and good.
At the safari we got mixed up with 4 other people our age which was really fun. Our driver and guide Simon was a great driver and we felt safe all the time. He was really nice, answered all of our questions and we got to see all the animals we were looking for and more! He was flexible and got up early to do the sunrise drive we requested.
Also the tents were big and comfortable, the only down side were the bathrooms at the campsites (dirty, no toilette paper, cold showers only).
Another huge pro: The food from our cook Richard tasted amazing, it was the best we had in all of our stay in Tanzania.
Since there are so many companies that offer the same tour and don't really differ from each other we think you can't get a better price with anyone else.

I've chosen Zamunda tours & safaris for 4 days/3 nights safari in Northern Tanzania for my parents after my online research, I can confidently say that it exceeded my expectations. Since my parents don't speak English very well the company has organized a Russian-speaking tour guide for them. My parents were wowed since the very beginning of the tour: when they landed, the driver was already waiting for them at the airport and afterward dropped them at their overnight hotel making sure that my parents would have breakfast prepared before the safari. The whole trip was well planned, covering main parks in Northern Tanzania with the opportunity to see all the Big Five animals. I'd especially like to commend the driver David for his amazing driving skills. Even though in some areas the roads were not the best because of rain, he managed to ensure a safe and comfortable traveling experience for my parents. Also, I'd like to thank Salim for being such an attentive,
knowledgeable, and entertaining guide. He made sure that my parents will get the best of all the game drives, they even managed to spot a leopard resting on the tree one day which is a very rare occurrence. Also, since he was speaking Russian he made sure with the hotels that my parents would be well looked after. I'm so grateful for both David and Salim, and for the Zamunda tours and safaris team for looking after my parents and making sure they will have a memorable experience for years to come.

Just returning home reluctantly from a wonderful safari in Tanzania with Zamunda tours. My daughter, son-in-law and I went to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro in late August in an action packed schedule expertly arranged by Zamunda in close consultation with us. We were met in our Arusha hotel by Salim before beginning, to make sure everything was right, and our driver Abouh took over the next day. Abouh took every care to see that our animal viewings were quality ones. His English is very good and his knowledge of animals extensive. He was very patient when we wanted to spend as much time with warthogs and hyenas as big cats. His excellent driving ensured we covered big distances safely and without running late, and he was always working to set up picnic lunches, supervise our baggage and generally attend to the behind the scenes details so that we could enjoy a stress free holiday. Abouh took us to less frequented sites and we felt that we gained as much as we could in a short time. I thoroughly recommend Zamunda as a tour operator and Abouh as a young, energetic and passionate guide.

Cannot recommend this company highly enough. Excellent communication with Salim right from the start. Accommodation was great and got us VERY close to nature!! Our driver George was fantastic and made sure we had an amazing safari. Saw the big 5 and lots more. Kids aged 21, 17 and 16 all rated it 10/10. Definitely the best experience we’ve ever had as a family holiday.

Never been on A safari before and really did not know what to expect. Safe to say from start to finish the experience was fantastic and Zamunda tours was a massive part of that.
We chose to do a 5 day 4 night Safari and was picked up for the airport on time by Abouh, from that point on he and Zamunda looked after us for the whole trip, accommodated all of our requests, stopped and explained anything we wanted explaining and really went above and beyond for us.
We also had a chef with us for the entire journey who cooked amazing food which looked miles better than some of the other operators in the parks.
Tanzania is a fantastic country and of course the animals are the main highlight, but it’s the driver and operator who can really make or break the visit. We really appreciated the lesser known spots in the Serengeti Abouh took us to, away from any other vehicles where we could really enjoy the wildlife. We saw all the animals we wanted to and really took our requests on board. Some of the other operators seemed to be following a set route around the busy areas and we really felt like we got better treatment throughout our visit.
Have been recommending Zamunda tours and Tanzania as a destination to everyone since I’ve come home, it was such a brilliant experience and can’t wait to go back!
